• He may go down as my all-time favorite Hoosier.

Improved jump shot and ball handiling ..oh yea! Hope he remembers that during the tournament ..one of the CBS announcers correctly pointed out that” Oladipo handles the ball way too loose on the dribble.” A teachable moment..can’t wait to see him back on the court. Kid looks much thicker thru the chest…gonna be hard to keep him from the bucket!

IF Victor becomes an effective jump shooter out to the three point line, he will be the Big Ten’s premiere guard this year, and a top 10 guard nationally. They were asking on ESPN’s First Take this morning if Durant can ever top Jordan. To me, the answer is a resounding NO, because Durant is not an elite defender. Victor has the chance to dominate both sides of the ball at the college level. In two years, he has already chased around Jordan Taylor, Brandon Knight, Marquis Teauge, Robbie Hummel, Kalin Lucas, Darius Morris, etc…and now has spent some off season time working with Chris Paul…..I kind of feel bad for this year’s crop of Big Ten guards….mmm nevermind I don’t feel bad at all. I hope Vic puts every one of them on ESPN’s top plays, as his landing cushion coming down from a monster dunk! I know most will argue this, but I’m telling you this dude might challenge Cody for “best player on the team” in 2012….Crean’s specialty is developing guards, when Vic makes the NBA’s first round, he will represent CTC’s best accomplishment yet.

Late in the season creek told him to cradle the ball when he took it to the hole to prevent being stripped. Kidd gilchrist did this at uk. It seemed that victor did this late in the year and cut down on the turnovers. If he can do this, consistently convert easy shots, and add a jump shot, he is an all American.

He is one of the most entertaining players to watch in my mind. His talent and enthusiasm, as well as his duo with Will make for great basketball. He is becoming a great leader for the IU program.

    Dude. Tom Coverdale?

Outside of Wade I agree. They both came out of nowhere. Both 3 stars. Wades one of the best players in the NBA and a future hall of famer. Hard to top that. This SHOULD show every elite guard in the country what playing for CTC can do for your career. Calipari gets players who are ready to play in the NBA before they step on campus. CTC develops average players into NBA caliber players. CTC should be able to get any guard/wing he wants and once Cody gets national player of the year this year and is the #1 pick in the draft, he should be able to grab elite bigs as well. Weve only seen the beggining of the monster CTC is creating fellas. Just wait and see what happens to our recruiting after this year when were ranked #1 for most o9f the year and possibly get 3 guys drafted in the first round with Cody going #1. Our recruiting is going to explode. It will snowball like Dukes did in the 90s. When CTC turns Jurkin and Perea into high first round picks our being able to recruit bigs will go thru thye roof. Dont give up on Alexander yet guys when Cody goes #1 it will grab his undivided attention. IU dont think Izzo has had a big or any player go #1 overall. CTC is better at developing players than Izzo is. May not be better at Xs and Os (that remains to be seen), but he can make a 3 star guy into a hall of famer. Just ask Wade who made him a great plater. When he had a few bad games against the Pacers he went to CTC and became a different player over night. Go CTC!

Anyone want to lay down odds on how many more SportsCenter top plays VO has to make to get the national media to stop calling him Ola-PIDO ?

  • Hoosier KZ

Absolutely love this kid and his work ethic. Sky is the limit for him as he continues to develop his all around game. Amazed at the strides he made last year. Excited to see how he and the rest of the crew show up this year.

In terms of his position, I actually like him at PG because he presents a match up problem in a number of ways, offensively and defensively. He has shown that he can get to the rim at will and has a decent jump shot. However as his passing, shooting, and decision making improve, I see this as his position at the next level.

Interesting to see how the Yogi, Hulls, VO rotation at PG works. Not a bad problem to have.

Keep workin’ VO. You da man!

  • HoosierFanaticFromUSI

It seems like CTC is really going to try to utilize Hulls at the 2 next year. We all know that Yogi is the PG of the future, but with Vic working on his ball handling and going to the CP3 camp it definitely seems like he is going to be spending a lot of time at the 1 next year as well. Also have Abell, can’t forget about him. With Yogi and Vic running the point and slashing through the lane, there is going to be a lot of opportunities for Hulls to do what he does best – shoot 3s.

  • stroot

    Jurkin as a high first-round pick? C’mon.

  • SCHoosier

IU’s offense works with great passing..not a lot of dribbling.(remember the dribbling horrors of the first 3 years?) VO was very sloppy in this area
last year..He will be great clearing out and going to the hole..UNDER CONTROL. But we need to score with great passing more than anything.
