HD Video: 2015 guard Luke Kennard at 2012 Run-N-Slam

Indiana is one of several schools expressing early interest in Franklin, Ohio guard Luke Kennard, who is considered one of the midwest’s best prospects in the class of 2015.

The 6-foot-5 lefty, who plays AAU with the King James Shooting Stars, already holds scholarship offers from Dayton, Miami (OH), West Virginia and Xavier and is receiving interest from Cincinnati, IU, Michigan and Ohio State.

Our friends at UMHoops.com have followed Kennard closely this spring and passed along the following video of the talented young guard from last weekend’s Bill Hensley Memorial Run-N-Slam in Fort Wayne:

You can watch more extensive footage of Kennard from the King James Classic over at UMHoops and also read their scouting notes on Kennard from the Run-N-Slam.

You;re kiddin’ right? 6-5..smooth with the ball..nice outside touch..goes to the hole..and he’s only in the 2015 class. Better keep an eye on this one..OSU will never let him leave the state.

Let’s make this kid be the last nail in Thad Matta’s coffin!

    Ohio State has offered

I like him, but I’ve got to say that’s the only UGLY left-handed shot I’ve ever seen.

We’re also looking at Mickey Mitchell, from Texas, a 2015 top-10 player. Some say #1 in the class. Of course, everyone else is looking at him, too. I don’t know if he has interest in Indiana, but he sure looks like an IU player.

Is it legal for Cody to call him? Can current IU players call a recruit?

Also looking at Jordan Mathews, a 2013 guard from California, who does like us. He’s on the California Supreme squad with IU target Marcus Lee.

Agreed. Lefty’s always seem to have such pretty strokes. This kid must be the exception

Have you seen Eron Gordon’s 3pt shot…makes Shurna’s look good:) Now if EG can just hit it as often as the NW star did..he’ll have something.

It’s kind of funny, isn’t it, in that:
    a) few kids have received as much high-level instruction at very young ages as Eric and Eron,
    b) few kids shoot as well as Eric and Eron do,
    c) few kids were as sure a bet at a young age to be an NBA guard as Eric and Eron,
    d) few kids have shot forms as un-fundamental as Eric and Eron.

“A)” connects right on into “b),” which flows right on into “c).” Then you get to “d)” and think, “What the heck?”

funny stuff..as long as Eron is shooting those 3’s at Assembly Hall in B-town he can bounce them off his head as far as I’m concerend.:)

  • jahhoosier

It’s really an interesting, albeit narrow, issue…if a kid about Eron’s age shows a lot of promise but an unusual shot form, when should the shot be changed and when should it be left alone? There’s a bit more to it than just whether or not a kid shoots at a high percentage.

And OSU just grabbed him.. He’s going to be tough in the B10
