Video: Aaron Brennan at IndyBall.com Shootout

After leading Guerin Catholic to a Class 3A state title last month, Aaron Brennan is garnering interest from Butler, Indiana, Indiana State, Iowa, Michigan, Notre Dame and Xavier.

The 6-foot-6 sophomore is playing alongside Wapahani guard Grant Evans with Fieldhouse Elite this spring and summer and the duo were a big reason that program won the 16 & under division at last weekend’s IndyBall.com Shootout.

Inside the Hall has compiled a short collection of video clips of Brennan from that event in the embedded media player below (Jersey No. 40):

Someone please tell me why we need another Colin Hartman or Austin Etherington?

He looks like his body will get bigger/taller so I was thinking a Plumlee…any one of them will do.  I don’t know if its just me or what but I don’t really have a handle on who we’re recruiting like I did with the 2012 guys.  I knew all of the 2012 guys including DSR and Hammons when they were freshman.  Now guys seem to be coming out of left field like the JUCO guy…I never saw that coming.  Why do I know so much less now about who we’re going to land?  I’m loosing my edge.

  • Wait til you see the 2015 recruiting board.

Come on, Alex. You can’t hit us with a cliffhanger like that on a Friday afternoon. I guess a little suspense in the offseason is a good thing.

I think it could be that with the national attention we are widening out nets? Not to say that the 2012 class was small potatoes, but maybe we are just involved with a lot more kids that are taking a hard look at Indiana. Whereas 2012 we were kind of confined to the state of Indiana, not exactly a basketball purgatory haha . Just an Idea.

Unless the young man gets to about 6-8….

  • You guys are crazy. This kid can flat out ball. He has the intangibles. He reminds me A LOT of Robbie Hummel. I know, it is sacrilegious to compare an IU recruit to a former PU player, but I can’t help it. That is exactly who he reminds me of.

Appears to be a little faster andmore athletic than I thought.

My exact thoughts while watching the clip. I hope he has Hummel’s work ethic, attitude and fire. Boiler or not I would take a Robbie Hummel on my team any day.

If we could land a player like Robbie Hummel that would be great.  Hummel is tremendous and should have been a Hoosier if it weren’t for our problems at the time.  Hummel is much better than any of the Plumlees and perhaps not a fair measuring stick for Brennan.  If it weren’t for the injuries Hummel may have been the best player to pass through the Big 10 in the past 10 or so years.  I say that without a great deal of thought behind it but I confess I started watching Purdue games because Hummel was that good and we sort of sucked at the time.  Don’t tell anyone I said that though.
