Can we get a breakdown of the season record predictions that everyone made or did I miss that already?

    WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!  Basketball season is here!

  • dphattybrown

IU wins easily tonight…. I think Stony Brook has a good team, but i feel like (hope) our guys have a chip on their shoulder and are out to smash people and prove themselves. Starts tonight!!! 20 pt win for the hoosiers with suffocating defense and intense rebounding efforts

Where is the pick-to-click or does that not start until B1G conference games start?

Think our starting 5 tonight will be Jordy, VJ3, CZ, CW & WS.

Had thought for some time now that TP would be starting at least at the beginning of the season but now I’m thinking WS instead of him because:

    1) TP has until recently not been able to go all out in practice.
    2) This opponent does not have a very tall lineup
    3) Some of the things that CTC has said the last couple of days leads me to believe he has told TP some things that he wants to see out of him and has yet to see him do those things in practice so far and maybe he thinks this might motivate him enough to  make him start showing those things in practice and in the game.
    4) WS has probably earned at least a trial run as a starter from all of the offseason work he has done and that is showing up in his play now. If he continues to bring the type of game that he showed against Indy he will be hard to dislodge from starting lineup, very hard.

VJ3 will have to continue to show the assist to turnover ratio he showed in the Indy game along with vastly improved D to stay in the starting lineup (IMHO) and if he doesn’t and TP starts showing CTC what he wants to see then I think we see WS move to the 2, CW moves out to the 3 and TP takes over the 5 and that, I think, would be our best lineup for now.

The IU jerseys have been hung by the lockers with care and with that everyone knew IU bball was almost there !!

OK, so I ripped off The Night Before Xmas a little bit, but doesn’t this seems like Xmas day !!

Think Alex is just doing it for the conference games only this year.

    It begins…

I’ve been waiting so long.  Let’s get started on a good note. Go Hoosiers!

IU needs to control the tempo of the game and we can run away with this one.  Otherwise they will be close to us throughout.  And if you are at the game and happen to sit on the west side I am an usher in section E as in years past (the good looking guy of course).  Would love to see a few ITHers passing by!  Let’s go Hoosiers!

T-minus 2 hours…..can’t wait! I have a feeling we are going to play very well tonight!

  • Correct. Big Ten only like last season.

  • BEAT KENTUCKY

Uh did you just say suffocating defense ????

  • ITS B BALL TIME IN B TOWN!!!!!  FINALLY TIME FOR INDIANA TO BE BACK ON TOP!@6e9d50ab9815aa51c61be701a73dc491:disqus !

    GO HOOSIERS!!!!

Been waiting months for this.  I’m excited to see a 12-man deep team get on the floor and run.  Hopefully a double digit W will be in order, but I’m just excited IU Bball is officially back!

  • MitchellBMitch

So glad IU Basketball has begun…here’s to a good season…

    Go Hoosiers…

  • Chromeburn

That nickname is awful, don’t do that to him. Everyone can think of a better nickname than that. Call him the honey badger lite before you call him that.

  • The_Real_Assembly_Hall

I have liked everyones comments. Consider that as my high five to all the fellow hosiers on here!! Go IU!!

“She-man” sounds like a Duke post player.

  • I haven’t been this excited for a season opener in a long, long time. Probably not since Jared Jeffries made his IU debut.

  • Anonymous

I don’t care if Tom Pritchard is starting or not, Sheehey needs to be out there.  I’d hope he’d start over Jones.

  • HoosierSmitty

Here we go! Let’s do this Hoosiers!

I prefer will-da-beast over shee man

  • dphattybrown

a guy can hope….. I will likely say that every week until i see it.  They didnt look good the first 10minutes but defense looked good the last 10 of the first half.

What about Eric gordons debut? Remember how he scored 30 and completely took over? Magic! I still remember the between the leg cross to lose the defender and sticking the deep NBA 3 effortlessly. I LOVE BEING A HOOSIER!!! Can’t wait to support this group and then on to 2012!

  • Anonymous

Wow!!! I predicted a 9 pt win. I didn’t think we were capable of beating anyone by 30

  • LTTelamon

I’m extremely happy about that performance. I’m not going to let it inflate my expectations, but I’m psyched about seeing the team play that well.

  • Anonymous

Wow…we are going to be very good this year! We still have things to work on, but this is the best defensive group we have seen in crean’s tenure and our offense has a ton of weapons! So excited about this year!

  • Anonymous

Alex how pumped are you about this 30 point romping of stony brook? Ya think this team may be better than we are expecting?

  • Anonymous

We are back!!  Indiana has definitely transformed from a year ago.  Totally different look and feel to the game.  Took them out and never let them back into the game.  Vintage IU basketball but without the motion.

  • Anonymous

You mean “He-Man.” for the second straight game.

  • The_Real_Assembly_Hall

I am impressed with many things. Ahhh doesn’t a win that was locked down feel great!!!??? Just think….this was only their first real game. Tougher opponents to come but we will only get tougher as well. That was team ball tonight guys.

  • oregoniu

Good game, made my concerns written in earlier post today all wrong. I’m totally good with that, go win IU!!

  • BEAT KENTUCKY

Im impressed but Coach and Hangin are taking it a bit far this early . Pritch , Cwat , and Hulls were dissapointing .

  • JerryCT

Hulls was easily the worst player on the floor. I was relieved to see Moore come in and lead us to a 16 pt lead. I hope this is temporary for Hulls ……… maybe he is hurt.

Jones looks like the PG we need vs Hulls based only on this outing

Pritchard has no mobility and maybe should not have played

Everyone looked much improved and better than expected …… really nice win as we will see later in the season when SB competes for their conf championship

  • JerryCT

Like I said …Hulls was the worst player on the floor …… by far ……. I think this will be temporary but folks need to start giving Jones some love at PG just in case

  • JerryCT

Could have been 40 w/o Hulls ………… I hope he gets it together or was injured because his play was inexplicable

  • The_Real_Assembly_Hall

Flu like symptoms. Must have been rough after a great first half (minus his first shot off the side of the bank board)
