Thanks for shedding some light on msu247. I certainly wasn’t ready to group all MSU fans in with that particular message board. Some of the comments posted there…I was thinking “really?”. It seems like most MSU fans think he is staying in the state of Indiana. IU’s biggest issue is they don’t have room for him unless one of the verbal commits takes an unprecedented turn and opens up his commitment – and with greasy cal always sticking his grubby. I think if they did, Harris would be a lock coming to IU. He came on Hoosier Hysteria and it was insane. I think if it were during the signing period, he would have signed the next day. I hope Harris is successful wherever he goes, and if he doesn’t go to IU, well I just hope IU wins against that team.

    HOO HOO HOOSIERS!!!

  • ok. so this obviously sound really good.  How about getting 3 out the last 4 Indiana Mr. Basketball to IU with a chance to all play together WOWZER along with a chance to crush the one that went East to ohio ST.

There will be NBA eventually because the players side IS that dumb; as in, a lot of those guys are so dumb that, regardless of how much money they’ve been paid, they’re still in need of that next check because they’ve blown it all on cars, houses, and supporting 23 guys they grew up with.

That’s interesting coming from a Michigan State fan because I’d have assumed you guys were the frontrunners.

I don’t think we’ll lose anyone.  I’d assume one guy is planning on winning the Powerball and then he and a teammate will drop off of scholarship and he’ll foot the tuition for both.  It’s a simple solution.

If joining a “superteam” is his desire why then wouldn’t he (I’m throwing up a bit in my mouth as I type this,) opt for Kentucky?

  • OK, thanks for clearing it up. I wouldn’t be holding my breath as an IU fan that he is coming here. It doesn’t sound too promising considering everything that has to fall in place to make it work.

I agree that the players now don’t need it, but the choice is to give it to the owners (who need it even less) or to the players. How about putting 5-10% into a relief fund for old-timers who have less than $50,000/yr to retire on?

speaking on terms of the scholarship numbers… does anyone think there is anything to PJ not being scheduled to sign yet, is it possible he might sign in the spring or go to prep school? Not that I want either of those things necessarily just asking if there is anything behind PJ not scheduling anything yet.  Possibly paving the way for GH to sign and figure out the scholarships in the spring.

  • No.

do not see too many favorable scenarios for GH coming to IU, maybe I need to stop thinking of some and just wait….

I’m not worried about what he said.  He may very well go to MSU, but I don’t see that guy as a credible source.  And as for Crean making room for Harris, his job is to put the best team he can on the floor and make sure all of his players are getting an education.  If he has to break some hearts to do that, that is just part of the job.  Face it, there are players on the team who would not be playing at Indiana if it was not for Sampson messing things up even more.  If people do not like Crean, that is no big deal.  Not a lot of people outside of Indiana liked Knight, but I think he did a good job.  If Gary Harris comes to Indiana, great!  If not, we get to play him every year and show him he should have come to Indiana.

Disagree.  Indiana is the front runner, Purdue second, MSU, and Kentucky a distant 4th.  The stars are aligned and they’re pointing to Bloomington, Indiana sir.

I agree. Every winning coach isn’t like by at least somone. If Coach Crean wants this to happen, then I hope he will make it happen. I want Gary Harris to be a Hoosier sooooo bad.

If we don’t get him I hope he ends up with wearing Sparty green.

Fellow IU Fans, you are missing the point here.  We would love to have him, but why would he come to a team that has 6 wings already on the roster for 2012.  I will be shocked if he comes.  Purdue does not have a Yogi running the show and will not be able to keep up.  Can’t wait for the BUSS to shut him down.  I bet Hollowell ends up with a better career in college.  Love the one you’re with!  And let’s not hate when he chooses any other school, our bed is already made and I am extremely excited.

Agreed with you until you said Coach K. Kyrie Irving? Austin Rivers?
