  • 10/05/2011 1:30 pm in

Warren Central junior forward Devin Davis Jr. is one of four Indiana commitments (along with Collin Hartman, Ron Patterson and Yogi Ferrell) playing in the 2011 Metropolitan Indianapolis Fall League. The league takes place on Sunday nights from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club.

Inside the Hall was in attendance for the league’s opening night and we’ve compiled over three minutes of Davis video which is available in the embedded media player below. (Note: You can expand the video to full screen by using the arrows in the bottom right hand corner of the player.)

Looks like he has a good frame.

I really like Devin’s game.  He is strong!  Great agility.  Good ball-handling for his size.  He could be a great utility player.  One area to improve upon though would be the jumper.  If he can get that down he would be a good all-around player.  Keep it up!

    Thanks for the footage!

DD has really improved his ball handling skills, there were several instances of grabbing a defensive board and going coast to coast for a shot at the basket or a dish for an open jumper. I really like his upside, especially with the way he gravitates towards the baskets on rebounds and for field goal attempts. He will really put a lot of pressure on opposing teams with a relentless ballhawking attitude, especially if he is able to develop a reliable shot from 12-18 feet.

I really like his game and how aggressive he is attacking the basket both with the ball and without.  He is really starting to fill out, and develop that college ready body.  Just wish with his style of play he would grow to about 6’8 or 6’9 and be that really physical PF that pisses everyone off by rebounding everything in and out of their area.  I keep thinking a Reggie Evans type, but with offensive skills.

Wow, I really like his game. I think this is the first highlight tape I’ve seen of his and I’m impressed. Great upside it looks like.

    One word…..versatile!

He looks much bigger now than when I saw him in the Warren Central – North Central game last season.  I like his skills, and if he keeps growing, he’ll be a nice addition to The Movement.

How tall is he now.  He looks to be one of the taller players on the floor.  I would guess 6’6″.  I think they had him listed at about 6’4″ last year.

This is my first look at Devin and Im impressed.  I realize this is just a highlight reel, but he has the tools to be a really good collegiate bball player.  He was always in attack mode with the ball and not afraid of contact.  He has terrific lift, even in traffic.  Looks to be an above average athlete with length, two qualities you cant teach.  I likey.

Both Hartman and Davis are quality commits with high ceilings.  I expect both to grow some before they hit Bloomington too.  Im becoming just as excited about 2013’s guys as I am 2012’s.  Congrats to Crean for landing those guys.

He has alot of upside and will be more a vital part of IU’s long term future. I know we like the Anya’s of the world etc, but this kid can play and will only get better.

We won’t be needing any small forwards for a while……..
