GoldandBlack.com: Harris sets official visit

Gary Harris has set his first official visit.

According to a source close to the blue-chip guard’s recruitment, Harris will visit Purdue during the weekend of Oct. 1, when the Boilermaker football team will host Notre Dame for an 8 p.m. kickoff.

This summer, Harris said that Purdue, Michigan State and Indiana were certain to receive official visits. Those visits to MSU and IU have not yet been set, according to the same source.

Unless GH has dislike for the incredible incoming committed 2012 class, it is a no brainer decision.  There would have to be some sort of personal conflict to not choose IU, cause it is HOME BABY.  SWEET HOME.  INDIANA HOME.  Everybody loves ya baby!

  • I’ll be rooting for the Irish more than ever!

  • Something in the water in West Lafayette must damage ACLs.  Good thing I’m leaving!

If it comes down to the visits, I have to like the chances for Indiana.  Easily has the best basketball atmosphere.

Here’s to hoping that I am wrong and that you are totally correct. I will be more than happy to say I was wrong (and my wife says I don’t know how to say that phrase HA )

Was thinking the same thing…although a diehard hoosier. Nice to see a rational post from a boiler.

You drop the mic as you leave but the tin-foil hat remains.

Good post hen in a back-handed complimentary kind of way.

My thoughts as I pick up the mic:

    – The glasses do grow thicker with every top Indiana recruit that commits to IU

    – IU being the top in-state basketball school traditionally will give GH much more national visibility as if he needs it. IU’s resurgence will be of legend

    – Great talent wants to play with and against great talent, hence GH to IU

    – Don’t count Izzo out just yet. He has still been to 4 more final fours in the last 8 (maybe 9) years that PU has ever

    – Coaching: Crean is from the Izzo tree so we know he has the knowledge along with the passion. And yes I like Izzo and can’t see them having a more down year that last year

    – Get GH and we’ll all have to have nose implants to carry the thick glasses

The best player in the class is not considered gravy whether he come here or not, we would go from really good to a major player with the addition of Gary.

Izzo has peaked? Really? If your definition of a shining program is having been to a Final Four in recent memory then Indiana is dead and buried.
