Great job Alex!  Keep posting video of Gary Harris, I think it shows that we are all in on getting this guy.  The highlights are getting better, along with what we are seeing from him.  His game is improving by leaps and bounds.  I am really starting to come around on Harris, and believe when he arrives at the college level, he will have a full arsenal.

I realize that, I was just refering to finding the video and posting it on this great IU basketball blog.  I think you can take a little cred for some of the recruiting succes IU has had.  This is probably the best blog site in all of college basketball, and I am sure that some recruits have found their way on here.  It shows how crazy we are about basketball and our school.  Keep up the good work soldier.

IU’s next Eric Gordon — one year in candystripes and then off to make a big impact in the NBA!  He’s got stardom written all over him!

Also everyone has seen what Dwayne Wade has done in the NBA after spending some college time with Coach Crean!

Harris will be playing in the Big Ten with someone in 2012-13.  I really hope it is IU.  I only see him getting better and better and would be a huge addition to our 2012 class.  CTC is doing everything possible to land Harris and has made it very evident that Harris is priority one for his last position (a sholarship will be made available).  It will be up to Harris to determine what factors are most important to him regarding the schools on his final list.  Harris has been a class act throughout the whole process and I hope people respect his decision, even if that decision does not favor IU.  He will be at the top of my X-mas list this year.

    GAME.

icing on the cake if we land this guy. the floodgates will surely open, if they haven’t already, for drawing indiana kids to the program. but one thing puzzles me. what kind of skills can you learn at a lebron james skills academy? lebron has very, very limited true basketball skills and a complete lack of understanding of how the game should be played. he excels totally on tremendous athletic talent, but you can’t teach that…

I hate to go here because I really do not think IU lands Harris. If he does it will be a major bonus, if not I haven’t put myself in a bad place mentally to worry about it.

However,. Gary is the first kid since Eric Gordon that has that swagger we just don’t see very often. He’s the kid we see go to Duke and North Carolina every year.

I think GH’s college career will be very short. But he can play now. And he can play very, very, very well. Good luck Coach. We’re rotting for ya.

Where do you think he will go and why?  I’m not saying I disagree with you, just would want to understand your rationale.  Man does he go hard…he’s gotten stronger and with he football experience the contact when driving really doesn’t seem to effect him like it would a VJ3 for example.  It is somewhat D-Wade like when he’ll go inside and do things you don’t expect to see from a guard…fun stuff to watch.

I’m with you on both accounts, walton.  Harris does have a very similar game to Gordon and you have to think that he sees the potential for Crean to help him develop as he did with D Wade.  Got to believe that Harris is the guy that can give us all the tools required to win a championship and make him a lottery pick.

I think the current class is great and he’s looking to make another one great, that is more “his” team. Just a gut feeling that’s all.

I agree with your thinking.  I think it will come down to whether he wants to be The Star or be on a team of stars.

This is the most uninspiring highlight video ever…BUT this captures who Gary Harris is as a player….efficient, strong, and old school. I love it. He is mid range, open jumpshots, get to the basket and the line. No Fluff!

It’s not the proper forum to debate, but I will simply say I disagree with your interpretation of Lebron’s skill, basketball IQ, and understanding of the game.

  • HoosierFromCt

so it was an accident that he won back-to-back MVP’s? because if that’s based on athleticism then give the award to JR Smith

Exactly what I have been thinking for some time now too. My gut also says no and says we will see him taking his orders from Izzo. I think he has pretty much known this for some time and has kept IU and PU on his ” list ” just to keep each school’s fans from constantly telling him he made a mistake with where he chose to go. Hope the kid comes and puts on the candy stripes just as much or more than anyone, but just don’t get the feeling that he is.

I’m with you, but I thought the same thing about Hollowell too.  Crean has been amazing with recruiting so I am maintaining some hope.

It is very nice to have those 2 players associated with the program and coach.

I was especially uninspired by that segment between 0:18 to 0:23 (through the legs, blow past defenders in traffic and a sweet finish at the rim).
