Video: Collin Hartman Highlights at adidas Invitational

2013 Indianapolis Cathedral and Eric Gordon All-Stars wing Collin Hartman is off to a hot start this summer and according to his AAU coach Matt Green, the IU commit has become much more aggressive offensively in recent months.

Watch over 90 seconds of Hartman from last week’s adidas Invitational in the embedded media player below. (Note: You can expand the video to full screen by using the arrows in the bottom right hand corner of the player.)

He has a nice shot…skilled player….but who is the big guy #25 – he has a big ten body already?

What a smooth stroke from the outside,a Robbie Hummel type player. He will be a great player at IU

He reminds me a lot of Randy Wittman.  Nothing sexy, but he can shoot the rock and he is a ball player.

I like the height that is being added to our line ups — if they can maintain athleticism against smaller opponents advantage us

Collin will be solid.  Great stroke.  If he can defend, pass and moderately handle the rock he could be a great role-player either starting or off of the bench.  With guys like Yogi, Zeller, etc. he should get plenty of open looks.  I wouldn’t mind a Diebler / Kyle Korver type.

I really like how he is looking right now!  Reminds me more of a Dunleavy type player, but I would also love a Hummel on the team.  I think he doesn’t have the game to be rated highly, but is going to be one of the better players in this class.  I would hate to have him on an oppossing team (ala Hummel).  But he is all ours right now!

Why is it that white players can only be compared to white players?
I think his game resembles Jeremy Hollowell’s a little.

This is like the Zeller – Jeff Foster thing a couple months back.

  • 11th and Done (Dunn)

A lot of times it is because they appear to have similar games, relying on shooting or craftiness rather than explosiveness. With that said Foster and Zeller was ridiculous. I would love to have Foster at IU, but when I thought of Cody, Foster did not immediately come to mind. I think that writer was like “I need a tall white guy in the NBA but I don’t think that he is Dirk good. Wait, who that tall white guy for the Pacers?”

  • CreamandCrimson

He reminds me of another white player.  I don’t blame anyone but all we ever compare Hartman to is “white player X”.

  • Casey B.

People are writing this dude off as a potential “solid role player” already!? He’s got two years left to develop, good size and he can shoot the lights out. He may be more valuable than what we’re projecting.

  • Uncle Joey

Well, when you consider the studs that Collin will be surrounded with… he won’t necessarily have a chance to be the #1 gun on the team.  But that’s not a bad thing!

I think Hollowell could be Ted Kitchel with a bit more speed because he could go off for 35 or 40.

Could you have imagined that trio of Zeke, Kitchell, and Wittman with the college 3-point line?

how great to have an effective wing shooter with size once again…

I’m going back a little further and saying he reminds me of Steve Green with that stroke and size.

  • Kelin Blab

Hartman reminds me alot of dominique wilkins or Arvydas Sabonis.

I thought he was somewhere between Manute Bol and Muggsy Bogues.
