HD Video: Luke Fischer at 2011 Kentucky Hoopfest

Germantown (WI) power forward Luke Fischer is the latest 2013 prospect to pick up a scholarship offer from Indiana and Inside the Hall had a chance to watch the 6-foot-9, 210-pound big man on Sunday at the Kentucky Hoopfest.

Watch high-definition quality footage of Fischer (wearing jersey No. 40 in red) in pool play games against Garner Roads and the Atlanta All-Stars in the embedded media player below. (Note: You can expand the video to full screen by using the arrows in the bottom right hand corner of the player.)

Is he really 6’9? If so I swear six other guys in this vid were just as tall. Like his hustle and he seems to have a good IQ, he knew were to go to when he didn’t have the ball.

Seemed to be. Set a lot of solid screens and liked his ability to pass out of the post.

Very active in this video, rebounding, running the floor, kicking out passes and even a little pick and roll. Seems to have good hands.   I wish I had seen some of that jump hook, post up game he talked about.

Also, he has the frame to carry more weight so being 210 now shouldn’t be a problem,

Umm I would hope from now till he gets to college he makes a shot or two but I guess he looks like a good prospect. Second coming of Jon Leuer?

I’d be thrilled to death to have Jon Leuer on my team.

John Leuer hits his shots.  I wasn’t as impressed as I had hoped.

It’s two games in July. I wouldn’t make much out of it.

I think he looked good. Long, good passer, post player that keeps the ball high and converts quickly on dumps into the lane and offensive rebounds. If he can run in the least he’s an improvement. Fischer and Hartmann in the same class sounds like Singler and Hummel.

I was most impressed with his ability to pass out of the low or high post, and how he always keeps the ball high when he catches it.  I also liked his motor and he seemed to be an intelligent player.

Not impressed with his shooting, though.  I understand that even Larry Bird had nights when he wasn’t shooting well, but Fischer didn’t square up his shoulders very well in a lot of those shots.  That makes me think he isn’t much of a shooter after all.  If he came to IU, we wouldn’t need him to shoot past 15 anyway, so I don’t know if that should keep us from pursuing him.  Nice player.

Absolutely, gresh. I can just see this guy on Bo Ryan’s squad breaking our hearts for 4 years. I like that we are recruiting someone in Wisky.

Kid looks to fit the mold of all the other 6’8″-ish blonde “polar bears” (as Lavin likes to call them) that Wisky seems to pick up every year….just wait for Bo to start recruiting him, then it’s over IMHO….kid will be banking in desperation 3’s at the buzzer to beat IU at home in a few years…LOL

It looks like Fischer is about the best big kid that Crean has recruited since Perea and Zeller.  Not worried about his shots not falling in this game but he knows that he will be invaluable with his inside and outside play. His athleticism and hustle shines through in this video. Rumors suggest that Crean has done a great job to recruit him so far.  I would like to see him play on IE Team Indiana next year.

Looks like the bigs Wisconsin has on their tea m every year. Like that we are in  it but Wisconsin will be tough to beat. Ryan seems to get these guys year after year.

I wasn’t wowed by this performance. Is he expected to be a perimeter shooter? I apologize for my ignorance.
