Is it just me or does JH look a whole lot bigger and broader. Said he was up to 182 and was shooting for at least 185 at the start of the season. Anyone know what he weighed in at the end of last year ?

Went to these pro am games last night and….

+ Jordan, Will, and Victor are ALL bigger. Jordan and Vic look alot stronger.
+ Will was more aggressive, ball handling has gotten better but still could use some work. He was going to the basket but missed a bunch of shot.
+ The MOST impressive thing of the night was Victor Oladipo Guards people. Shelvin Mack could not shake him, Victor out ‘physicalled’ him, stayed in from of him, and contested every shot, forced him into some tough shots. The refs were a little touch feely which limited VO some but he GUARDS PEOPLE.

His ball handing has improved dramatically to the extent he could push for to be a starter at the two or three. He got to the basket well and was able to finish above and through big guys. If you didn’t know he was a college soph, you could not tell between the pro guys and him.

That’s interesting about Victor.  I’ve been wonder who will be the “go to” 2 this coming year and thought it would come down to who closed their particular gap the most.  For example can Victor develop a stronger shot, no question he can defend.  Can Austin defend, no question he can shoot, etc.  I don’t care who it is, just want someone to move forward in their development which it sounds like VO is which means IU is developing guys which has be a knock on us.

Hearing this, I think AE is going to have a hard time cracking the lineup just by shear virtue of the improvement VO, Will and others already in the college ranks will have over him. Not a knock on Austin at all. Even a diamond in the rough like we hope AE is has to deal with making the transition to the collegiate game. I am tempering my expectations for him this year.

AE won’t play any meaningful minutes until maybe his junior year.  Role player at best this season.  Just not seeing anything out of him to suggest he can beat anyone out this season or next.  He can shoot maybe, but he just doesn’t impress me enough to warrant much playing time.  I hope I’m wrong.

Clearly bigger and stronger. Seems much more aware and less of a “deer in the headlights” look. He simply looks and acts different.

    I see maturity and leadership.
