According to a report by Scott Powers of ESPNChicago.com, Indiana assistant coach Tim Buckley is one of four coaches under consideration for the vacant head coaching job at Northern Illinois.

Indiana assistant coach Tim Buckley, Gonzaga assistant coach Ray Giacoletti, Purdue assistant coach Paul Lusk and South Dakota State head coach Scott Nagy are among the candidates Northern Illinois is considering for its men’s basketball coach, according to a source.

The Northern Illinois campus, located in DeKalb, is less than 30 miles from Aurora, where Buckley was born.

The 47-year old IU assistant is 143-139 all-time as a head coach and in 2001, led Ball State to wins over Kansas and UCLA in the Maui Invitational.
