Milla, I am sure he is referring to the recent “takeover” comments from an incoming recruit.

And here we sit until 2013. And here we sit. We sit. We sit. I think I might kill myself.

  • MillaRed

It’s all good Jeff. Trying to get Hoos to tread water over there.

Love the hammer – nail statement. You are wise in your ways JerryCT.

I have a lot of respect for Lavin for bringing in Keady. I wish CTC would bring in someone like that. Ya know, like Coach Knight. ha ha ha ha ha ha! I am so funny to myself!

I’m sure he may get a little defensive a little bit quicker than he should due to everything being the way that it is but………I feel like he should not be so quick to preempt a question if he thinks it is going somewhere he doesn’t want it to.

Right now IU bball is a two way street, as well it should be, and he can’t say how knowledgeable he knows his fan base is and at the same time feel like some topics are off limits, if he really believes that anyway. If and when we are winning 25 games a year and up and are competing for BIG 10 titles then some of the questions that he seems to want to avoid probably become stupid questions that he can legitimately just brush off but we aren’t there yet. If he will level with the fans in general about some of the things we have concerns about and not try to talk around things I think he will find that the fans will continue to back him even more than they do now.

Nothing like having to state the obvious for someone is there ?

    I will gladly second that.

    The motion carries.

    The yeas………One entire Hoosier nation

The nays……….1 ( The guy that sold him his phones and usage and who went from the penthouse to the poorhouse )

Five guys in the top 150 becomes three when you do not develop one with a red-shirt year of practice and training, but ask him to move on, and one has terrible injury luck that destroys two straight seasons. Then of the three left, one performs very well for two years, one makes incredible progress from year one to year two, and one is a total enigma. The problem is that in the previous two clases you have only one OK player. Period. That is not enough!

He is NOT going anywhere until I see Lyles and Blackmon in candy stripes!

  • MillaRed

I am using both hands to count. That’s how I roll……

Ummmmm, That would be after 3 more seasons. I hope our boy gets er done before that Loop!

  • MillaRed

Good points. I noticed the “cutting short” methods as well. He’s just frustrated as you said. Still yet coaches don’t like journalists doing it so he shouldn’t either.

  • MillaRed

Nice. I can only hope that has happened 100,000 times. And what were you doing sir? You were right there and didn’t kick him in the nards for me?

    P.S. Violence isn’t the answer, unless it’s Sampson’s nards.

One name….Steve Lavine. He has came into St.John’s and is going to take them to the tournament in one year. Crean has had two more of his own recruiting classes than he. Would you say St. John’s was loaded with talent when Steve arrived?

  • Anonymous

Are you guys freakin kidding me? It was a top 10 class according to everyone in 09.

  • Anonymous

My point with that, and you kind of helped me with the comment about Muniru, is that the coach and his staff need to utilize and progress the talent that they have. It is the coach’s job to get the best out of his players and the team, not the players job to get the best out of the coach. That is coaching 101 isn’t it?

First off, my standards? I didn’t tell you what my standards are, but I will now. Not last in the B10 after 3 years. Is that soooo much to expect from the greatest coach since John Wooden and a top 10 recruiting class in it’s 2nd year? Not last……not last…..not 3-15 and 12-20. 2nd, Crean must feel that he has depth to play 14 players against OSU including 14 minutes from Daniel Moore. OSU is #2 with a 7 player rotation. We are awful with a 9 or 10 player rotation.

I expect a winning season and post-season play next year. But no axe until after Lyles and Blackmon are in candy stripes. I liked Crean when he was at Marquette and I thought that he was a great hire. I am thrilled with his recruiting. I am not satisfied with this year’s team play.

We still are not comparing apples to apples. St Johns had a complete team and upperclassmen leadership. It was nothing like the toilet Crean inherited.
