Can someone explain to me why I CAN NOT watch IU Basketball!!!! So much for the Big Ten Network. It was such a big deal to have the Big Ten network provided by my subscriber, and now none of the %**$% games are never on it. The Big Ten can shove it in their dark hole.

  • The TV scheduling for this game has nothing to do with the Big Ten. It’s a neutral site game in Las Vegas that CBS College Sports Network has the rights to broadcast.

Alex, the fact remains that unless IU fans want to pay out the wazoo for every concievable package, they can not watch all the games. Bouncing the games around multiple networks that are not part of the main package does not make for happy fans. The Big Ten is chasing the money and does not care about the goose. The harder it gets for me to watch the games, the less interest I have in the games.

  • This game being on CBS College Sports Network has nothing to do with the Big Ten, though.

that was absolutley pathetic , thats all i have to say or ill get blocked

  • stonaroni

Agreed and our PG play and scoring was awful. Hulls got abused, VJ couldnt make a shot, Mo was bad

Frustrating game – CBSC is like watching a high school game on public access. I think the announcers work in the UNI athletic department. IU battles back from 10 down (give or take) at halftime, they are down 2, and all I’m hearing is how “UNI can still win this game”.

Oh well. As to our guys .. .

    1) we still have major lapses on offense, which are inexcusable – we need a go-to guy.
    2) Our defense stunk for a half tonight, then got better, but just not enough
    3) I worry about Creek. Tonight he gave us NOTHING at all on the floor – for every point he scored, he took either an ill-advised shot or lost his man on defense . . . I love Mo, but right now we might be better served with Sheehey or VO.
    4) VO quite simply needs to get better at free throws – but like the effort overall
    5) Elston was very good on offense tonight – I’ll overlook some defensive lapses – I think he played very well overall, and was very happy for him.

I like how we battled through and had a shot at the end, but we need to find a way to win these games. Hopefully a better 40-minute effort tomorrow night . ..

I’ll end up posting this again but I have to get it out. I am not holding back after this one:

That was a pathetic effort/game from a coaching and playing standpoint! No positives to take from this one besides Elston’s continued scoring!

    1) It took until the 6 minute mark of the second half for IU to put someone other than Creek on Helebu or whatever his freaking name was!
    2) No recognition that the game was being called loose in the first half. They bodied our shooters and we dropped off theirs! Why can’t we figure out the situation called for close physical defense and then they wouldn’t have gotten off all those shots?
    3) WHY THE HELL CAN’T WE TRY PLAYING A ZONE OR 1-3-1 OR 1-2-2 TRAP WHEN THE MAN TO MAN OBVIOUSLY ISN’T WORKING!?!?!?!?
    4) I always defend Jordy but he played like a scrub tonight! Lousy leadership, defense, shot selection, too slow off the point, etc.!
    5) WHY ARE WE TOO STUPID TO FOUL O’REAR OR WHATEVER THAT REDNECK’S NAME WAS WITH 30 SECONDS LEFT? IT WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BENCH AND EVEN THE PATHETIC ANNOUNCERS WERE SAYING HE WASN’T A GOOD FOUL SHOOTER AND BEGGING IU TO FOUL!
    6) Why was Creek playing the entire game when it was clear he wasn’t effective and his leg was making him a liability?
    7) Why was Hulls playing so much when he was obviously off his game and Rivers looked to be the better PG tonight?
    8) Why are we jacking up threes instead of feeding the ball to Watford and Elston down low when that was obviously what was working!?!??!!?!
    9) Why can’t we hit freaking FT’s????
    10) Where was Will Sheehey in a game where his perimeter defense could have made a difference?

I know there are going to be a lot of very pissed off IU fans because we can handle UNI going out and shooting 8-16 from the three point line in the first half. That crap happens, but IU fans can’t handle stupid play and dumb coaching! I’m a die-hard, back ’em no matter what fan and I can’t handle it!

I’m going to end up cutting and pasting this into The Minute After and probably adding to so I’ll stop now.

I’m with you tonight Stoni! That wasn’t the same Hulls/Jones from the BC/pUKe games!

Jones put out some effort but Jordy looked sick or something! He played like a scrub. I could still play if that’s the accepted level of play!

  • Bleeding Crimson

Someone explain something to me, how come the scouting report didn’t get picked until the second half on their 3 pts shooting. We should have shut that down 1st time out.

  • Aceman_Mujezinovic_07

Amen Dan! You have to learn to finish. My only problem with CTC (besides some obvious in game lapses) is that he doesn’t have any “mean” in him. Throughout the history of sports, the number of guys who excel on the field/court are dominated by the guys with some “mean” or “swagger” or “cockiness” to them. This team has no “mean” in them! You come back to tie that game then give up a wide open layup (Hulls losing his man) and then do it again on the next trip? Where’s the “learning from our mistakes”? Where’s the mental toughness?

Maybe the hump won’t be reached this season! You can’t continue to choke away from home and get away with it. There’s a lot that needs to be discussed in the hotel tonight before tomorrow’s game!

  • Bleeding Crimson

Not much that I can add. Lack of D of the 3. I agree with every point that you made…not that I ever disagree.

  • Kelin Sheeharris

I can’t wait til the minute after…I have ALOT to say tonite about….
    + Mo Creek
    + Kelvin Amayo
    + Substitutions
    + Mo Creek
    + Jordan Hulls
    + Colorado and New Mexico
+ Gary Harris and any other recruit that doesn’t help us now

  • LDIU

Our guards (all of them) got eaten for lunch at both the offensive and defensive ends. I thought VJIII played especially poor and seemed like he had more turnovers than points. At least 2 charges and on one play simply dropped the ball out of bounds with nobody around him.

Very frustrating game to watch. The problem with our guards is that we have what we have.

  • MillaRed

Your last statement is everything in a nutshell. We do not have a PG that can handle the pressures of a Top 50 team on a consistent basis.

  • IUJeff

Very even game in most statistics. 7 more made threes by N Iowa and lack of floor general killed us. Mo and VJ going 1 for 8 each and WS playing only 4 minutes to Mo’s 25 also hurt. Their 2 seniors and 1 junior outplayed our sophs as well.
