One thing i noticed on bryson scotts comments about committing was that he was quoted saying IU is getting pretty stacked up…i think that is funny cuz i heard someone from purdue say that Bryson said he like IU a lot more than Purdue. I guess Purdue can be content being a backup plan, if you want to look at it that way haha.

WOW…+ “I came here to beat them” + “I want to bang on them” + “They are not going to stop me” = Hanner the 6th Banner + ONE and DONEHanner as soon as Gary Harris signs the next name change will be yours bro…..

  • Kelin OlaHarrispo

Not sure how other teams will score in 2012, with VO, Buss, Yogi, (Harris), Hanner, and Jurkin! by the way what a HORRIBLE alley oop pass made great by Hanner. No offense kid but you threw that like Peyton Manning tonite.

  • Bleeding Crimson

My favorite part of the video is where Daniel ask him if he had any shout-outs and he said” family back home….and my IU people now. Sad but true, One and Done.
Gary Harris we will make room.

  • HoosierDavey

Wow, that WAS sick! He makes it look pretty easy to fly around the rim.

Haha I loved that he mentioned how stacked we were getting too,…definitely how I want our program to be talked about…schollys are hard to come by now…and playing time will be VERY soon…feels good to be back

    Thats CRAZY

I’m not sure I could pull off this dunk on my son’s Nerf Hoop.

  • HoosierFromCT

We shouldn’t stress to much if he becomes a one-and-done. It’s not like he’s our only recruit. Adding him to our team in 2 years full of leadership and talent, that has FINAL 4 written all over it. I will gladly take a one-and-done every year or two if it means deep tourney runs because we will have juniors/seniors on our squad consistently.

Favorite part of the video (not counting the dunk), he makes that little turnaround mini jump hook shot (don’t know exactly what to call it) look so easy and effortless.

  • MillaRed

Sure would be nice if the NCAA locked kids in for a two year commitment.

    And I hate John Calipari.

Not sure why those two statements go together. I just really hate Calipari.

Nice to see Hanner highlights, can’t wait for him and all the other studs to come to IU. Off topic but i’m focused on this years team and they need us to keep showing them love still and hope they can keep playing well all season and make some noise this season and with that said, Alex is anything new or even a rumor to go on with the eligibility of Guy? I feel like if we can get his size on the floor and much needed front court depth with him we could do more then people think this season.

  • Q95

    nice, but can he defend?

  • Based on his comments, he wants to play the point in college, and being sandwiched between Yogi and Balckmon, Jr. doesn’t seem like he would’ve seen a starter’s role at IU … ever.

  • Plane1972

That’s what I hate most about one-and-done players – you don’t get a chance to know them before they leave. Sure, you get to watch them at the next level and that is great for recruiting, but can you really say they are a part of the fabric of the program’s history. I guess if their success breeds success in getting other talent to come to IU, but I’d rather have a DJ White for 3-4 years than a turnstile of Demarcus Cousinseseses.

  • Plane1972

Oh, and I hate Calipari, too.

Let’s pray the NBA implements the 2 and done that seems to be floating around out there instead of the straight to the NBA!!!

It appears he can certainly block shots.

I hope UK fans understand that they will not win national champioshoips unless they have the right leadership and experience (or just make your free throws….Derrick Rose). Yeah it’s nice to make the sweet 16 and elite 8 but is that all UK wants? I doubt it.

It’s funny watching Cal coach because he stresses more than anyone since he constantly has to teach these FRESHMAN what it takes to win in college. Once you have those upperclassman, the teaching during games isn’t necessary. Enjoy a different starting 5 every year, UK fans. That is until we find out John Wall, Cousins, Terrance Jones, Brandon Knight, and Marquis Teague are ineligible and Cal bounces for another school.

  • ArtistFormerlyKnownAs_Aceman07

You know the worst part about last year’s pUKe team is that they had upperclassman leadership and he still couldn’t coach a National Championship team! They had Patterson, Orton, Liggins, etc. to go with all those first round freshman so he had some leadership to help the young kids and they still couldn’t win. That’s because he’s a recruiter (probably an illegal one at that) not a coach!

  • HoosierFromCT

Orton was a freshman and I think Liggins was a sophomore. I forgot about Patterson. He was the DJ White of that team. Orton was dumb to go pro but he did get picked in the 1st round (guaranteed money) and he probably would of been playing behind Terrance Jones this year.

  • ArtistFormerlyKnownAs_Aceman07

I forgot Ortman was a freshman. I was thinking of Stevenson, the really thin forward that played quite a bit.

But either way they had Patterson and he still couldn’t win with a “senior leader” in the lineup.

I’ve never been impressed with him as a coach, just a recruiter, and I’m pretty sure he cheats, as I’m sure most people do, even pUKe fans in denial.

  • MillaRed

It is funny watching Calipari “coach.” All I see are his one and dones looking at him like an idiot whan he “coaches” them up.

Maybe I am old fashioned, but a kid in and out for a year is a flash in the pan, not a real Hoosier. I loved watching Eric Gordon. But the love for the player just isn’t there knowing he is all but gone. One year isn’t enough to build a dynasty.

I really, really thought Coach Cal made me want to gag. Then I saw him at the NBA draft bouncing around like a game show host, and realized he is the biggest dork I have ever seen.

  • With all the signees now I think we need a new video!!!!!!!

  • Jmfriedman

I think Hanner is a two year kid, possibly more. Yes, he is extremely athletic and can power dunk, but he will need to develop a more complete game- passing, defense, and consistant outside shooting. If you have ever watched any of the “And One” type tournaments, there are tons of RIDICULOUS dunks, but the NBA scouts aren’t fighting to get these guys to try out. He will also be fighting for playing time with quite a few VERY talented teammates. He may prove me wrong, but it will be fun watching!
