The inaugural, first-ever, never-before-seen ITH Podcast

We’re so 2004.

Yes, it’s true, Inside the Hall is adding to our media arsenal a weekly podcast. It’s not Bill Simmons — yet — but hopefully it fills a little bit of a void in the IU basketball world. Every Thursday morning, we’ll post a new installment of the podcast, hosted by this ginger and featuring all manner of Indiana basketball-related guests.

This round, we kept it simple, seeing as it was our first go at this foolishness. Dustin Dopirak, Indiana beat writer for the Bloomington Herald-Times and long-time friend of Inside the Hall, joined us in the ITH studios (my back porch) to chat about recruiting and the current team. We touched on Yogi Ferrell, Gary Harris and Jeremy Hollowell, Christian Watford, Maurice Creek and defense, among other things.

So give it a listen. Let us know what you think. Given that this is our first try, we absolutely value (and in fact beg you for) your opinion. Enjoy, and holler back. Also, much love to Peter Stevenson for acting as de facto producer for our first show.

(Alex’s Note: Little did Zach know, there was once, an Inside the Hall podcast. 3 episodes in fact. Waaaaay back in 2007. Good times.)

Didn’t he already miss like > 30 min in each game already? Sorry I couldn’t resist but he really hasn’t looked good. I hope he is healthy though and can get back in the action and earn some quality minutes.

You say that now, but you have no idea–Osterman may have been sitting there in a loincloth

He hasn’t looked good, you’re right. But this team needs all of the healthy big bodies it can get. I would be willing to bet there will be a few games this season where Elston makes a huge impact with his energy.

So Yogi Tweets something is going down on November 24th? Are we going to be on the edge of our seats for another week? I’m exhausted from the Cody sweepstakes.

IU is favored at BC after their ugly loss this week. Regardless, knocking out any ACC foe on the road is good stuff. Still yet, we gotta bring our A game.

Let the Countdown begin….I’ll be slightly annoyed if this actually isn’t something big…and good ha…I feel like the top 6 schools was kind of a joke.

I think thats their first home game and they are playing a small school. So I could see a blow out. But I hope he is refering to a committment.

What? Miami isn’t a front runner? Yogi is lovin’ all the attention. I’m not
sold that he’s pulling the trigger next week. (see how I did a Jedi mind
trick on myself to keep my hopes down?)

Yeah the RPI means just about nothing, especially early in the season. But it is fun to see any kind of ranking system with us in a decent position. And I may be a little biased but finishing 68th by the end of the season would not be a surprise.

He hasn’t looked great, and I’m hoping it’s not a Pritchardesque sophomore slump. I’d be more inclined to think that he’s kind of going through a bit of what Watford saw last year in regards to playing out of position, and will benefit as much as anyone from Guy’s presence.
