how many times does the kid have to say he’s 100%. enough with the health questions…lol. hopefully his skills are as good as his personality!

Cody can't say no to Austin Etherington…seriously. 'Get Cody'

  • BaseballBuc

Yeah and you know whats has GOT to happen now? Austin has to get Cody to come to an IU game with him and the whole building has to chant for Cody Zeller. It works every time, and hopefully he will commit shortly thereafter.

Regardless of who else we get in 2011, AE is going to be my favorite recruit of that incoming class because he committed early and he's been so vocally pro-IU ever since. And if Zeller decides to commit to IU, then AE has to get some of the credit.

It's fun to watch these kids mature. Last year AE wasn't nearly as comfortable with the press as he is now. Looking forward to having him suit up with his own recruiting class…CZ.

I love his sly humor. He sounded like he was just about getting tired of talking about Zeller, then when the reporter changed the subject to what he needs to do for the summer, “get Cody.”

I get the feeling that he can probably talk crap on the floor and annoy the hell out of the guy he's guarding without anyone else even knowing what's going on.

This is a classic case of relationships when it comes to the recruitment of Zeller. I remember Tyler Zeller not being thrilled with the crowd at IU (Sampson, Thomas, Basset, Ellis etc.) when he was being recruited but still visited. This time Crean has 'good' guys there that know Cody, Hulls, Elston, etc. and Austin doing his best…..60/40 he comes to IU.

Just got back from watching the Elite game today…

Etherington played great, I am without a doubt, 100%, a fan of him from now on. He has a basketball IQ through the roof, he is fast, he plays passing lanes with the best of them, he can knock down the three consistantly, ATHLETIC, had 2 great layups on fast breaks one he finished with his left that was very impressive.

Crean was in attendance the entire elite game w/ a posse…

Zeller is all that everyone on here says and more, would be a great commit.

Ferrell, also great how an athlete like that ever ended up at Park Tudor is beyond me…

Plumlee is a project without a doubt, was getting moved around as well Zeller by a big guy on the Kansas City team (#34) who actually is looking like a Butler lean which I found pretty cool.

Jeremiah Davis missed about as many layups as possible, honestly maybe the reason he's falling is because kids in his age group are starting to get as strong as he is so he can't just drive and run ppl over and score…and this does happen a lot to strong guards who play physical, eventually at some level of competition ppl will catch up physically… I hope this day never comes for DSR

I think we may be the team to beat, even if UNC offers. Cody didn't sound too keen playing with his brother, saying something to the effect of, “It would only be for one year.” That doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement to me (but maybe he's saying that because they haven't offered him yet)… still, I like our chances.

AND, since I've been hard on CZ over the past month, let me say that I'm glad to see that he's playing really well (just checking the box scores, he seems inconsistent). I hope that this is only the beginning.

Aside from the 'Get Cody' comment, my favorite part of the interview was at the end of part 1, when he tells the group to move to the side. First the courtesy for the others playing and then the leadership from a high school kid is great. Extremely glad to have him on board.

Love his attitude, would enjoy him, Yogi, & Cody on the same IU team keeping butt and having fun!!!
