I agree! J Davis could start at PG for IU tomorrow, 2010-11, and 2011-12, any old time. Come on Jeremiah, commit to IU and let us LOVE YOU!

  • Outoftheloop

I don't know “BTW”, please identify. If we get Etherington, Zeller and J Davis for 2011, then Coach Crean and IU will have achieved the status of a Top10-20 program, in recruiting, after only TWO YEARS! That would be pretty good!

    Two things I love….

+ Watching denim shirt lose and him wearing a suit he can barely breath in….KS has been eating.
+ The Kentucky Low GPA story. I will change my 'Cal will leave prediction to the 2012-2013' season. Each year the GPA will get lower and lower (if that is even possible), two more one and done classes will come and go without a title, then the administration will start to get creeped out about becoming a D1 prep school…..Cal to the Clippers, L'Ville, or Grizzles.

I somehow feel better when IU does not get its way, blaming you Jerry. It seems to come very natural now. And fittingly, vandalizing your property allows me to move on.

Thanks for being so honest about the source of your information, that is so welcome on these sites. Also, technically, you have “third-hand” information: your own knowledge is first-hand, the AAU player's knowledge would be second-hand to you, and the information from your friend, the brother of the AAU player would be third-hand to you. Obviously, the credibility of the information decreases as it is further removed from the real source. This does not mean that the information must be wrong, merely that you have to really know the intermediate sources, their bias, history of producing good information, etc. That is why corroboration by additional sources is so important. It is Sunday and I have too much time on my hands!

    I have a new theory on recruiting…..

Lets say VO and Sheehey come in, at least one of them play well and makes the all Frosh team, while the other is a big contributor off the bench…….does that make Crean a great recruiter then?

It seems like based on stars and rankings Coaches get judged on how well they recruit, without either player stepping foot on campus. Doesn't make sense.

I am coming to Wisc. in early June ……….. watch out. maybe I should wear some kind of “egg” hat or something to differentiate myself from you guys with the cheese heads

  • marcusgresham

Does that mean if “Cheese Head” Milla and “Egg Head” Jerry breed they'll spawn a “Quiche Head”?

I think the most noticeable difference for a lot of people between ITH and the other boards is the posters. The reason I check this site everyday is not only the provided info, but because I enjoy reading most of the comments. You won't find most of the BS that you find on the other sites (rumors without legs, thoughtless comments, negativity, ignorance).

How different would we feel about our 2010 class with Kyrie Irving (Kelin is still emotionally traumatized)? CTC made the mistake of putting all his eggs in one basket, or Coach Ro was the problem, or whatever you want to think. But I think this class shapes up nicely if the additions of Eman and WO come through. I'm a bit more intrigued by the 2011 class myself because I really feel that will be the indicator of the direction the program is headed.

    Kelin:

Thanks for the link. I must admit that it doesn't surprise me but the quotes from some UK officials and many of the comments by “I bleed blue” fans only serve to support my belief that the environment at UK is and has been ripe for this kind of thing for years. Lots of people on IU forums have used the word “apologists” when discussing CTC's record over the last two years. They need to check out this link to get a good example of what the word really means.

Makes me happy that CTC is at IU. The wins will come and I am confident we will ever have to read a report like this one on his watch.

Well I agree we want to win with better athletic combinations than Wisconsin does to make some runs. However when IU did have an athletic team with Mr. S. they still beat us. They cut teams apart every year with less talent due to Bo's system.

Bo doesn't win championships because he won't recruit the top national players. His system is certainly good enough but it doesn't highlight the individual and allow the one on one players to show their stuff. Butler has a similar system as its all about the team which is hard for me to not show some love for.

We need a combination of great athletes and a team system as the stars will always shine.

It is interesting that only 12 programs in the last 30 years have won a championship. Bo is not by himself.

  • psvirsky

Haha, thanks. I do get annoyed not knowing someone's “source” is legit or completely made up. Or even if legit, how close they are to actual first hand knowledge.

And I think when it comes to blogs, all info gets automatically bumped up a hand. So my third hand knowledge in the blogosphere becomes second hand, the sibling has first hand knowledge, and the AAU brother is now actually Kevin Noreen. That's just how it works out here in the wilderness.

And to add to that–if it does show in a couple of years that Crean's guys do well in college, sites like Rivals will start bumping them up in the ratings after they sign with IU because “well, they MUST be good if HE's recruiting them.” A lot of those sites are pretty reactionary—-especially in regards to football players.

I like the clown in their posts trying to blame it on Gillispie! Then there's the other doofus who stated, and I quote “Y'all just jealousy…”

I think they both will fit in to the system perfectly. I am high on Sheehey, I think the kid is gonna be a force on both sides, while VO will be the Kramer of IU, with highlight dunks. Can you imagine Assembly Hall after VO throws down one of his freakish dunks….WOW

It's “by the way”, not a player. Unless it's “Big 10 Warrior” and that's what we'd all like to see.

I know Guy-Marc Michel fro North Idaho College. He is the room-mate of Logan Jones a 2007 Indiana junior All-Star and 2008 graduate of Madison (IN) high school. Guy, is a solid defender who blocks many shots and has good strength. He can finish at the rim and rebounds well. He was the body and mental make-up to compete in the Big-Ten but more offensive skills will need to be learned.
