Hoosiers show lack of pride in blowout loss at Wisconsin

by in Recaps | February 13th, 2010

Dan Dakich summed up Indiana’s effort Saturday afternoon at the Kohl Center on the Big Ten Network’s GMC Postgame Show with a concise, direct message.

“Indiana didn’t show up,” Dakich told Dave Revsine immediately following IU’s 83-55 loss. “It was the third straight game. This time they lose by 28. Two previous games by 17. Without much energy, without much pride.”

The humiliating loss, IU’s sixth straight, dropped the Hoosiers to 9-15 overall and 3-9 in the Big Ten. And while the outcome was not unexpected, the lack of resistance Indiana showed from the opening tip was discouraging.

There was no fight. There was no determination. And perhaps most disturbing, the effort on defense was non-existent.

Indiana looked more content to lay down and take a loss than engage in a battle with Wisconsin. And the final score, the worst loss of the season, was indicative of that.

“We’re having a major confidence issue in the sense of playing through anything that is even remotely tough to us right now,” Indiana head coach Tom Crean told Don Fisher on the postgame radio show. “We’ve got to get that mojo back of that toughness that we had.”

The outcome was never in doubt as the Badgers (19-6, 9-4) led by 20 before the second television timeout and shot 53 percent in the first half.

In all, Indiana surrended 10 3-pointers to Wisconsin, led by seven from Jason Bohannon, who scored a career-high 30 points.

“We’re not keeping the dribble in front of us right now,” Crean said. “That’s why we’re trying to play some different things defensively. We’re just not really helping with a purpose. We never got off to a great start with our defense, they got a ton of confidence and we just gave up far too many open shots.”

Indiana also reverted back to early season form in the turnover department, coughing it up 21 times. Wisconsin won the battle on the glass, 33-26, and had 18 assists to just 10 turnovers. Trevon Hughes — 16 points — and Jordan Taylor — 11 points — joined Bohannon in double figures.

Christian Watford scored 15 points to lead Indiana, but shot just 4 of 12. Verdell Jones, battling flu-like symptoms, added 11 points in 33 minutes.

While IU is certainly young, that’s no excuse for their lack of effort; in a game like this, they almost certainly knew (or should have) that they were going to be behind at some point, but when they got down early, they packed it in.

Also, I don’t have the stats, but I had heard that Crean’s Marquette teams did a poor job of defending the three, i.e., they gave up a lot of easy attempts. It seems to me that the opposing teams are getting way too many open looks. Is this coaching or personnel?

Finally, I believe that Crean is a pretty good recruiter. However, if he doesn’t have an NCAA tourney team next year, his ability to recruit top notch kids to Indiana is going to get much more difficult. Remember, these kids weren’t even born when Bob Knight won his last championship, so that history means very little to potential recruits outside of Indiana. While everyone is preaching patience, I’m starting to think a sense of urgency is what’s required.

Their play today was exactly what some of us have been saying. They plain don’t give a damn. Anybody that would let someone make them look like a bunch of punks without putting up a fight simply doesn’t care any longer. For our team to win 6 games last season, and only muster 3 more this year indicates something very wrong. Speaking for myself, I haven’t an answer but someone sure needs to find one. And also on a personal level, I wouldn’t be too upset if about half this team transfered at the end of this season. If these kids don’t care about their team, their fans, their school and themselves to allow this season to progress the way it has without no more of a fight in them as they have shown, perhaps another school would be best for all involved. They have once again embarrassed themselves and IU yet again and frankly, many of us are just plain sick of it. It’s one thing to lose, but to lay down for an ass kicking on tv for all to see indicates that there needs to be someone held accountable. If the pressure of the Big Ten is too much for these kids, perhaps they need to drop to a D2 school.

Just my opinion for what it’s worth.

  • tonyh812

I’m very concerned with the lack of PRIDE this team is showing. This team was not prepared to play basketball today! I think the responsibility for this gutless effort falls on the team and coach Crean. I can’t believe what I’ve watched the last few games. This surely won’t help recruiting, which is already lackluster!
I sure hope things change or we are going to be the joke of the Big Ten.

  • IUfrank

Is TC on some kind of short leash with these officials. I think it is Time for Crean to get a technical at the start of one these games when the officiating looks favorable to the other team. Please don’t tell me that you haven’t seen this happen this year. They all need a fire lit under their collective asses, pick thereselves up off the floor and get after someone under control. I would let them sit for a while and watch the game. If we get beat it won’t be because someone wasn’t bustin it out there. Did TP get a foul today on Travon Hughes with a head fake. Who would have thought that wouldn’t work? These guys are 6’9″ and aren’t attacking the basket unless someone is out of there way. The dribble and hand off weave fr throw lane extended is terrible. It sure makes defending easier, after about a couple handoffs it is pretty well telegraphed throughout the arena!!!!! I turned the TV off for the first time in 35 years. If the coach would quit cheerleading these premadonnas and making them play like little johnnies playing biddy ball they might grow up. TC needs to go off like IZZO does on these guys for poor effort. Wow I’m glad I got that off my shoulders. I’ll be back watching and supporting, with tough love Tuesday night. Go Hoosiers!!

  • Hoosierfan

Responding to one of the comments above; I’m afraid Hulls is not the answer. He’s a fairly good spot up shooter , but he is a serious defensive liability and will be so for four years. He is not quick enough or tall enough to deal with the opponents guards, and I don’t see him getting taller or faster.

When IU was playing man-to-man early on, he was getting beat off the dribble, which allowed Wisconsin’s guards to get in the paint and either score, draw the foul, or dish for open threes. Even when IU went zone, he was not quick enough with his rotations to prevent easy three point shots. He is not playing high school competition from southern Indiana anymore. I think Hulls will be a solid role player and can certainly contribute to the success of the program, but if he’s the leading candidate as savior, things are very bleak.

    Things just aren't getting better.

  • IUDAD

I think they are all a little apprehensive about stepping up as a leader when they get beat they don’t want to be blame or beat up in the media about it. Most of the new guys are not use to this losing thing. Unfortunately being able to lead thru the good and bad is what earns the guys respect. Then the leadership has been established.

  • IUDAD

Leadership on a team who is losing is something most of these guys have never had to deal with much. The leader will come from someone who wants to step up and lead no matter how tough it gets. Time will tell.

  • IUDAD

Even Hulls doesn’t want to be held “accountable” for being the leader on a team that is losing, but that is what it takes to be a leader. Someone who challenges his teammates and makes them “accountable” for there efforts.

  • HoosierDavey

Gotta agree with Dakich. C'mon boys, FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!! And, Jordy, take the reins and be the leader. Rivers won't do it. Jones is inconsistant in doing it. You will be our leader, so why not start now? You've done it well before, and I think you can do it well again. Until we get that player leadership (another thing Dakich said), we won't go anywhere but down.

  • vslice

Things were getting better. There is no doubt this team WERE making strides before the tough loss of Roth and then Creek. They continued to battle and even won the next game against Michigan without either player. Since Purdue this team has all but quit. They have more talent and another year under their belts, but last years team played hard and played with heart. IMO Hulls and Elston are still battling hard, and Jones apparently has the flu, but even Jones the past several games has been hanging his head in disbelief. Watford has given up, especially on defense. I wouldn't mind sitting most of these guys the entire next game, and I'm serious. If the excuse is being too tired then that would give them a chance to watch the game on the bench taking some time to get their legs back. It would also give the other players some much deserved playing time. TC can not continue to let these guys loaf around, play horrendous defense and still log 25 to 35 minutes. To me this has nothing to do with Crean, he has clapped, cheered, and paced with the same intensity all year. Is he the one playing defense, turning the ball over, hanging his head??? I finally put this one squarely on the shoulder's of these youngster's. I think we need a major shake up on who is getting minutes next game. Don't want to play, don't want to hustle….. well watch from the bench then.

  • vslice

I couldnt agree more. Hulls needs to start calling these guys out, someone needs to point out the accountability of poor play, poor effort, lack of hustle, etc… You dont need to be all everything to be the leader, you need to be the one who the guys can rely on. Your right, Hulls has got what it takes and he needs to grab the reign's right now!!!

  • ldiu

Being beaten is one thing, being humiliated is another. I knew we were in for a long day when River turned it over 20 seconds into the game. One of his 4 turnovers. How he can play 33 minutes is a mystery to me. But to be fair, everyone played poorly. I cannot understand Creans sideline activities. All he does in clap and pace back and forth. I would like to see Hulls, Elston, Watford, and Jones all play 30+ minutes each and then sub in the others in a supplementary role. These 4 our are future. This is so bad that it really isn't worth going into more detail.

  • Guest

I think youre a little harsh here. to say that he’s going to be a defensive liability for four years is jumping the gun a little bit. Lateral quickness and strength are what he needs to develop to be a strong on the ball defender and if you think he does not know that these are weaknesses you are foolish. I guarantee that he will be back a much different defender with a summer speed and strength program and a season under his belt. On another note I hear a lot of ppl making comments about his ability to lead the BHSS squad he was on. I graduated a year ahead of jordy and can say that this year is actually scary with how comparable it was to his role at South as a freshmen. Simply a shooter with good ball handling and basketball IQ. Every year he developed on the weak aspects of his game and was the best player in the state in the class of ’09. All I’m saying is this as the season has progressed we’ve seen him throw some new weapons out there like the elbow jumper and a couple nice drives to the basket. We know he can shoot the three ball and pass, but if the parallels between his start of the career at south and this year at IU are any indications then I can promise you he will be a fan favorite at IU by the ’12/’13 season.
On another note as a kid who grew up in Bloomington and loving IU basketball since I could breathe, it really saddens me following that blog reading the b.s. during the game. Cursing the coach and talking about how bad the players we have are is just rediculous and completely counter productive. Should there be questions? yes. should we be upset when we see a lack of effort? yes. The team proved when it played Illinois and purdue that this team CAN play basketball. Those were deflating losses and we’ve been reeling since then. But talking about them like they’re d2 basketball players and garbage isn’t going to make them play any better. A lot of ppl on here really know what theyre talking about and thats awesome and why I come on here. But some ppl need to grow up.

  • Luke72

Out played. Never daunted? We faulted! The pride has to return!

  • BaseballBuc

Hustle beats talent when talent doesn't hustle. We definetely don't have much talent, but tonight we had absolutely NO hustle. It's getting to the point where IU is embarrassing to watch, and it's not fair to the die-hards who support the team through thick and thin. Absoutely pathetic effort today. This one is ALL on the players. Coaches can only do so much, when it really comes down to it, the players have perform.

  • Will

Stop placing the blame on the players. They are a product of the teacher and TC shoulders are heavily weighted down. His blunders from Marquette are starting to surface at IU. Realize that Crean is fantastic promoter and is primarily a self promoter. Stop the softball questions to Crean and keep him under the microscope to perform for IU fans and supporting players. This guy is a real disappointment. I suspect recruiting will be impacted by his performance results.

  • aerialM

wow. there are losses and then there are losses like this. I'm despondent. nobody can blame them for going to #13 Wisconsin & losing, but to be blown out like this, with seemingly zero effort or pride, cuts deep. I never, not in my wildest dreams, imagined we'd win go 6-25 last year and then follow it up with something like 9-21 this year. something's gotta give…what happened to the team that played Illinois and Purdue so tough? I'm at a loss…

  • dfitz

To state the obvious, the youngsters have hit the wall. Too many bad breaks like Creek and Roth no pun intended and too many tough losses. Now the heart has given out. Let's hope they can gather themselves for a respectable finish. Probably not many wins left but at least a game effort.

Against the stronger teams we can't afford anything short of our A game to contend. With VJIII under the weather and nobody willing to step up plus 20 turnovers it could have been a 40 plus point loss. Right now the only heart I see out there is Elston, Hulls, Moor and Watford.

As for Watford to be the monster of the future he sure spends a lot of time on his a**. His are the most quiet points I have ever seen. Does anyone have Mark McGuire on speed dial? Oops, sorry we are doing it the right way. He sure need a lot of time in the weight room. Maybe D J White would be a better mentor. I love the hustle but how can he get blocked, knocked down and stomped that often and be at the line another 10 times a game. At least he can hit the freebies but that is why his points are so quiet. He doesn't finish enough of his shots PLUS the free throw.

I am looking forward to the next 3 years to see some of the guys develop. Time should help a lot plus some new talent but we need a 4 or 5* big and combo guard soon. I hope we can cash in on the Indiana talent the next 3 years. There is enough there to field a final 4 trip if they were all on the same team. Well, let's see ho they finish.

Seems to me these guys have lost heart and are possibly tuning Crean out at this point. It's tough with today's generation of players because they don't have much patience for losing or coming off the bench – they have too many people whispering in their ears after games telling them they need to transfer, demand playing time, etc. or their “NBA stock” will plummet….I wouldn't want to be a college coach these days. That said, if I were in Crean's shoes, I'd be looking for two things right now:

#1 Someone on that team needs to step up to the challenge of taking this team on their back and pushing it to play harder….they need to lead the way in practice and the games. Not sure who that is, but someone needs to step up.

#2 I'd go into the next practice and say that every starting spot is up for grabs….that we may not win another game this year but we dang sure are gonna play hard….I would then let the hardest working players start….whether that's VJIII and Pritchard or Tijan and Finkelmeier.

Then again, Coach Crean has a few hundred more D1 wins under his belt than I do, so maybe I'd be better off shutting up and watching him work his magic….. :-)

  • aceman07

I was slightly encourage by some of the things I saw against OSU, including Bawa's play and obvious improvement but man am I disappointed with these guys today! It appeared to me like the only player who wanted to put out any effort today was Jordan Hulls! I do not have anything else to say!!!

  • IUDAD

1.Ready for these young boys and I mean young boys, to get their butts picked up off of the floor and start fighting back when someone hits them in the mouth.
2.Tired of the dribble and hand off offense the coach has them running. It is easy to defend and they rearly see the basket because the defense hedges on the ball screen, which makes them have one shoulder turned away all the time.

    3. I am tired of seeing these big kids going up for lay ups instead of attacking the rim, even if they miss one from time to time.

    4. Bawa and TiJan are projects? OK, but for what? I cant' believe they aren't getting goaltending called on them 2-3 times everytime they play. Does anyone remember how Patrick Ewing started out and then finished his college career. I know these two kids are not PE, but they should be playing goaly in there. Talk about a deterent around the basket.

    5. Coach Crean needs to call these officails out a time or two as well. He is being way to supportive for poor effort from the players, coaches and officials. We can't get calls at home like the reast of the league for cryin out loud. I challenge anyone to the fact that doesn't happen also.

6.Quit watching the game for the first time in 35 years today, but will be back in front of the TV Tuesday night rooting for the Hoosiers. Just a real tough time we are al suffering thru as Hoosier fans.

  • Haystacks

just plain embarrasing to be an IU basketball fan.

  • valpohistory

What do you want Coach Crean to do? He has NO ONE who wants to play with heart. Like Dakich said, most teams take on the personality of their coach. He wants them to play hard, they just…..aren't. On offense, sometimes shots don't fall, but defense is completely based on heart. Sometimes you get beat, it happens, but it makes me sick when Verdell gets beat EVERY time to the basket. He has been terrible at defense for the last two years but everyone gives him a free pass because he scores. Coach Crean has no choice but to clap and pace back and forth and try to coach these guys up. There is nothing else he can do.

  • valpohistory

I agree with both of your posts. #1, somebody has to step up. For a while, I thought it was going to be Rivers but he doesn't score enough to be “THE” leader but his defense can be contagious at times. When he stays on the floor to cover the best player, like he did against Michigan on Harris, we can really play well for stretches. It could be VJ but his defensive lapses can kill this team and the runs that they create. Sure he scores, but that isn't what our team needs to be concerned with. They have to play defense and THAT will be contagious.

So who else steps up? Creek was stepping up. He was our unparalleled best player, best scorer, played excellent defense, and as he went, so did our team. He needs to come back healthy next year, or it will be another long year.

For #2, a little competition can't hurt. They played with no heart today. Like I posted somewhere above, defense is completely about heart. A team can be extremely unathletic but can play excellent defense by being intelligent and playing angles and anticipation. That's why I'm hesitant to assume VJ will step up as a leader. Sure he can score a lot of points, but if he continues to get beat, is he really exhibiting the type of heart we want from our top leader? We'll see.

  • hansschnier

If half the team transferred at the end of the season, then the rebuilding process would be delayed by another year at least.

    Perhaps you're just being hyperbolic.

I don't think anyone is happy with the lack of effort in 4 of the last 6 games.

However, effort is tied into confidence. Confidence is bred, in part, through continuity. Indiana has lacked continuity in spades since Knight's departure. Patience will be required.

  • hansschnier

Less embarrassing, however, than being an IU basketball player, coach or staff member.

  • MikeinNC

BTW, I'm from Valpo originally too…do you live there now?

  • vslice

I really think that guy that needs to step up and become the leader is Hulls. He was the leader of BSHS. He was Mr. Basketball and has all the qualities to be a leader!!!! Some may say that he is too young, but Hulls has nothing too lose. He needs to grab this team by the horns and barking out instructions/responsibilities/accountabilities/etc….. Hulls has got to be that guy!!!!

  • trailrunner

Nonsense. Effort has little to do with confidence. Effort and hustle can be displayed by any squad whether they are great or the worst team in a conference. It is about pride and hustle. Effort should be a given in any basketball player at any level. Where do some of these theories come from? The backside of one's anatomy? It is amusing when someone who has never played organized basketball lectures those of us who have.

  • HoosierDavey

I think he can step up and be a leader on the team, regardless of whether he gets the most time or not on the floor. We need someone to lead in practice, the locker room, games, in free time, etc. I really think Hulls has that ability. Probably feels as though he has to defer because he's a freshman, but when there is no leader to begin with, go for it!

  • HoosierSmitty

I'm not going to lie. I thought the game was later so I completely missed it. I can't believe I did that, but my frustration with myself was short-lived when I saw the score. I'm glad I didn't have to suffer through that.

I can't remember missing an entire IU game in my life. I used to tape them on VHS and watch through the fuzzy lines when I had other commitments that kept me from watching live. I wouldn't take phone calls or watch anything else until I saw the game. Now I use DVR if I have to. When I'm lucky enough, I make my way to Bloomington for a game. Right now I'm catching the game on Big Ten Network knowing how bad the beating is. It's terrible to watch. Just terrible.

I just don't know what to think anymore. It's bad enough losing, and now we're getting killed…and then you hear the transfer rumors and wonder when is it going to end? We lost guys last year and now we might lose guys after this year. That's just sad. If we lose guys, I'm going to put it on those kids. No matter what the coaches were selling them on the recruiting trips, what did they expect? That they'd come in and it would be easy? That we'd win right away? We're never going to have a winning program again if guys don't stick it out. We can't keep starting over. If those grumblings are starting, then teammates better start supporting each other and help everyone stick it out. Don't tell me it doesn't hurt to not have Nick Williams or Malik Story this year.

Let's hope we don't lose guys, but if we do, that'll just be yet another disappointment in what has been a gut-wrenching stretch of miserable basketball over the past several years…going to back to the end of the Davis era.

We're all tired as fans, and I'm sure it's 10 times harder on those kids and the coaches…but something has gotta give.

My family still lives there but I am a student in Btown now. My parents are both alums from Valpo and I moved there after I was born in Crown Point. I played basketball, baseball, and football at various times throughout high school. How long ago did you live there?

  • hansschnier

“Effort and hustle can be displayed by any squad whether they are great or the worst team in a conference.”

The greatest and worst teams are determined by the outcome of the games. Effort and hustle, well applied, may result in a great team. The lack of same often results in a poor team. When one fails, it is natural to want to sulk. There is a correlation.

“Effort should be a given in any basketball player in any level.”

You describe the best case scenario. Over the course of a sporting contest, it is normal for an individual athlete, or a team, collectively, to lose focus and let up. Baseline expectations are not always met.

    “Backside, etc”

    Unnecessary.

  • hansschnier

I normally work during the ball games, so I use the DVR a lot.

Past three games, I've forgotten to set it.

Plain and simple. Personnel. You saw CW go “hard” to the bucket only to get rejected. We are razor thin down low. That acknowledgment jeopardizes a weak front court. Add Moore into the mix and you have a 4 on 5 at best. Couple the Jobe/Muniru duo watching the action and you have a MASSIVE personnel problem, plain and simple.

We just don't match up, man to man with any team worth much. TC is bwtween a R and a HP.

Coach, it's time to look hard at seasoned, JUCO players. Smart, Garrett. Ring any bells?

  • JerryCT

I am still in Brazil so I missed the game again. BBuuutt……………..

It sounds to me like the coach and the kids have hit “the wall”…..so it is time to shake things up.

Again I reccommend Crean hire a consultant , not a casual conversation with a friendly coach but a consultant full time to breath some fresh air into all he is doing. If not he is in danger of ” breathing his own exhaust” …..ie doing the same thigns over and over and gettign the same result.

Examples of doing things differently might be :

    1) off ball screens for Watford set by Pritchard
    2) run a NW style offense or low stack for a change instead of transition only
    3) new rotation with DUmes + Rivers on the floor at the same time to defend the perimeter
    4) Moore off the bench before Hulls to stress defense

………………lots of things are available but the kids can't keep doing the same things over and over and think the result is going to improve at this point

  • valpohistory

25+, and both of my parents still would have been in high school I believe. Would you?

Its pretty clear they've mailed it in. That was an F U game to the coaches and its on both the players and coaches. It reminded me of the 1st game Dakich coached when all the players hated him and didn't want to play for him. I really wish the BTN didn't have him on for IU games, he is a bad memory. Not to mention, its obvious how much he wishes he was the coach.

Its also clear any improvement has hit the wall. All the “improvement” this year was due to more talent on the team. I'm not really sure I see much improvement as a result of coaching up players.

If any of the top players leave, IU is in real trouble. Other top recruits are going to look at that and its going to be hard to convince them to come to IU.

  • gnrnabk1

All these excuses are getting old. tom crean and I U sports remind me of barack obama's campaign “hope and change”. Same result. Never going to happen! Smoke and Mirrors!

First a tough tough game to watch, just wanting to see some improvements, but not much to work with however…….

Why is Jordan Hulls continuing to get better and play more consistent…..

ANSWER: He is what we said at the beginning of the year….A Winner. Coming from South and being that leader on a winning team, rest assure Jordy is the one that will take this team over by next year. No matter if he is starting or coming off the bench, the kid is a winner, and has continued to get better and more consistent. This is what he did at South no matter if they were playing Teague, Ray McCallum jr. or whomever, the kid competes competes competes.

I hope IU fans can continue to understand what they are watching. You are watching a 'child' grow, through the good and bad. I am still excited, still optimistic, still 100% in Creans and the teams corner.

  • MillaRed

Well, I was indeed in the Kohl Center yesterday with my IU hat. I've never been looked at like I was a charity case for 2 hours. But that is what you feel like supporting a team that puts forth that kind of effort.

    A few observations regarding players/coaches:

First thing I followed closely was the shoot around. Who did nothing but shoot 3-pointers the entire time? Rivers! Sure, I only coached youth bball, but when i did, I consistently told the kids to take shots they would find during the course of the game. Yet there he was for 10 minutes clanking three's. Very frustrating. That kid is completely lost. I would also point a finger at the coaches in this matter.

Roth was dressed and was draining three's with regularity.

Mo Creek was out there shooting too but had the noticable limp and was the last one off the floor based on that knee. Still was nice to see him though.

The game? You saw the game. I have nothing to add. What I can say is at TV timeouts etc. the guys just looked terrible. Their body language was pathetic. Crean had different line-ups in there to shake them up but they aren't responding to him.

  • iurons

We currently have the same talent level as Iowa, Penn State and Michigan although those teams have may have a little more experience The reason players are projected as three star and below players by the recruiting services is that they do not possess all the skills of higher rated players.. Make Hulls three inches taller and he is recruited by everyone. Give Rivers a great outside shot and players cannot guard him, giving him the opportunity to make simpler passes to teammates. Make Jones a great defender and he may be all Big Ten. Give this team more depth and they will compete, not for a Big Ten title but certainly respectability in the coming years three less turnovers, five more baskets, three more rebounds, five more stops makes this a tight game. We are not talking a lot here. Lets get more four star or perhaps a five star player in here and see what happens.

  • marsh21

The kids do not take Crean's desire and energy on the floor for some reason. I don't blame Crean for this loss.

Our kids are still reaching when defending the drive to the bucket and I don't understand???

    B. Finkelmier knocked a kid to the ground when he attempted to get lane access on the cut which was the best play of the game for IU. We need more of this on the road and at home and I don't care about fouls as it appears Rivers does by his reaching.

IU players please finish the season by imposing your will on the other team. I simply cannot stand to watch other teams laughing at us as they have the last three games. At least make them feel their win when they get on the bus or plane and the following morning!

Say what you want about Dumes and his lack of shot selection, but he never pays scared and doesn't back down from anyone. You couldn't say that about anyone yesterday

Was Tom Stokes still the fotball coach then? Back in the early sixties, Stokes was my football Coach at Dyer and then moved on to Valpo.
