Postgame audio: Kentucky

by in Media | December 12th, 2009

Indiana coach Tom Crean, Maurice Creek and Derek Elston met with the media following Indiana’s 90-73 loss Saturday against Kentucky in Assembly Hall. Listen to their comments, as well as those of UK coach John Calipari, in the embedded media players below:

Wow, I'm a little surprised at Crean's chippiness in the press conference. IU was expected to lose the game…obviously all I hear is the audio, but did something happen that made him flip? He seemed calm until about halfway through and then he completely changed personas. It's hard to hear the reporters questions, so I couldn't tell.

I think you really take some positives out of this game. Not many people thought IU could hang with UK…and they couldn't in the second half. But if they even play that well against average Big Ten teams, IU won't be finishing 10th or 11th in the Big Ten as many (including myself) thought they would. Improvements need to be made, sure, but UK's a good team (as much as I hate to say it).
