Alex, hope I didn't come off as if I was dogging you or as a hard a$$ cause that was not the intention at all. Love this website and the way it is run. Your site is the first thing I check when I get in the office and last thing I check before heading to bed (my office is in my home). Hope to be sending a donation soon. Being self employed in a business that is tied to the buying and selling of homes right now is not a real good thing.

Geez I cannot get excited about any of the choices. Is this the limit of today's university creativity ?

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I will be giving thanks to:

- having a coach and team that I trust will not embarrass me off the court
- having a community of fans that love and support their team in a proud manner
- having players that are working their butts off to meet all of our expectations

And........oh yes....I will give thanks that I have ITH to keep me connected to all of this

Sorry Alex but I don't like Hall Monitors or Candy Stripers at all. You can be almost assured that the other team's fans will be linking Hall Monitors with a large number of unappealing things and then there will be the inevitable discussion on should we change it or not. Like Kelin said the candy stripers only opens us up to stripper jokes and other various things that we don't want to be associated with.

There is nothing says that if you go with a name linked to the coach's name it can't be changed later on plus I think the best ones on the list are the ones with Crean in them someway. I also like a couple of other ones that have been suggested here such as Hoosier Hostiles and Crimson Crazies, either one of these two are waaaaaaay better than Hall Monitors or Candy Stripers IMHO.

funny i think the two the author likes are two of the worst. hall monitors and candy stripers make me think of high school and nurses.

crimson guard sounds cool. i also like crimson knights (in honor of you know who).

whatever it ends up being it doens't really matter.

I like Creaniacs. I know avoiding the coach's name is safe, but most schools do this and get away with it.

If not that, then I'd go Hall Monitors. It doesn't have to be dorky thing, it can be more of an authoritative thing. Maybe the students all wear ref shirts, but with red stripes, because “we're in charge of Assembly Hall”, not the other team, not the refs…

First of all I just want to add that is hard to have a student section name when you don't have a student “section” to begin with. However, I am probably the only student at IU that realizes it can't be done inside of Assembly Hall.

If I were to go with one based on appeal I would say the Hall Monitors as well. I just think it is a bit too much as far as syllables and letters. Look at the Izzones, Paint Crew, and others.
