Bob Knight should come back. I've been an IU fan from the get go and a Bob Knight fan just as long. Coach Knight did a lot for Indiana and the fans. I'm one of them. I don't care if you like him or not. If your an Indiana fan, you should be a fan of Bob Knight. He is Indiana. Look at what happened to IU after he left. It is just now starting to turn around. This guy had no loosing seasons as the coach for the Hoosier. He won most of the championship we brag about to this day. I didn't fire Bob Knight. The fans didn't fire Bob Knight. In fact, anyone who was involved with firing Bob Knight is probably not even around anymore or have gotten fired themselves. This is about bringing home our coach, not only to honor him but as a way of making things right with him. Coach Knight please come back and celebrate all of your accomplishments at Indiana with all of your fans.

Why honor him?? Look at our BBall program now compared to where it was ( I do believe it is on it's way back under Coach Crean), look how in a short time after Coach was fired it fell apart, is it a coincidence that there were none of these problems when Coach Knight was here, I think not. He kept his players under control, did not cheat, he had a handle on all this because of the discipline instilled in his program. Sure, he had some great teams and players at times, but he could still have winning season's and instill fear in the opposition with far less talent than the teams we were facing. Say what you want about his demeanor, parents knew what their son was in for when they signed up, he was a tough man who turned boy's into men, taught them what the world was going to shove their way once college life was over. He is the master when it comes to strategy and always will be, a legend, that's why we honor him.

In the time since IU fired Knight, Arkansas has fired Nolan Richardson, been sued with him, and honored him along with his 1994 NCAA champs. Also, Woody Hayes made nice with Ohio State after he was fired. Knight got fired. IU got sued. It's all water under the bridge, and honoring one of the greatest coaches in the history of the sport is a no-brainer.

Why honor him? Well there are those 3 natty banners hanging in Assembly hall. There is the tradition and honor of IU basketball. There is Herman B. Wells library which he basically subsidized. But I guess you are right, these are all minor things and outweigh some small lawsuit.
