The chances of Selby coming to IU are slim and none. Don't get me wrong I would be estatic if he did but I just can't believe he will ever wear an IU uniform. Success breeds success and when we are closer to being back where we all believe we can get to we will start getting the kind of talent that is obvious now rather than talent that is brought out of a diamond in the rough after 2 or 3 years. This is by no means a shot at CTC's ability to recruit because you don't get the kind of talent we have for next year in our situation without being a great recruiter. Alot of how our recruiting is going to go the next couple of years depends alot on how much improvement we show this season. Maybe thats not fair but that is the way it is in recruiting the 5 stars. While I believe we can be very competive and have much success with the caliber of player we have gotten so far I tend to believe this, just as you must have good role players to have the kind of success we all want to have you must compliment those kind of players with the 5 stars also. Not to say that big time success will be impossibe without the 5 stars but our chances are vastly increased with them. I firmly believe Crean will get it all sorted out and do what it takes to get back to where we belong and do it the right way. "In Crean We Trust"

Thanks. I am not saying you shouldn't point out the obvious (as I suppose I did), I am merely pointing out that you have a negative tone about everything. I also would like to know what you mean by your last sentence....it does not make much sense to read.

He's not coming. He's a one and done and will go to whatever school that can get him to the pro's the quickest. That's how you land top 10 recruits. Until we go to the final 4 or drop some lottery picks our chances at these studs are slim.

Check out 2009 Boost Mobile Elite 24.

Mr. Baxter, I feel like you do not want to get emotionally inolved and get disappointed again. You show flashes of hope, but it feels like you were burned by Denim Shirt or "Help-is-on-the-way" or both. Maybe you are still feeling the hurt from your first love: RMK and the forced break-up with help from Myles Brand. Maybe you were one of those guys who bought a Texas Tech t-shirt. I don't know. I understand you are probably skeptical and do not want to set expectations too high so you are not disappointed again, but most people commenting on this blog are very optimistic and we need to believe we are a player again on the scale we used to be (when we were all young and things made sense) during the "good ol' days." I want to believe that Coach Crean can play with the big boys on the recruiting front, but his track record is taking on 3- and 4-star players and turning out a pretty good product (see: Travis Diener, Steve Novak, Wesley Matthews, and Dominic James) in the Big East. We are hhoping the pull of Indiana will make him a major force with the kids. I agree you are probably more on the realistic side in terms of record, tournament appearances, and recruiting, but seeing that in writing is hard to swallow for some (including me). I have to believe the glass is half full.

I am emotionally spent from KI. I do not know if I can get involved with another point guard right now. I don't want him to be the rebound guard if there can be something meaningful here. I think he has athletic ability and is rated very high, but I can not let my hopes get up again. I hope you find the right place for you Mr. Selby. If it is Indiana all the better for me; if it is not, I hope you are successful where ever you end up for your 12 months of college life.

It seems that Josh is very athletic and if you look back Coach Crean seems to be going for athleticism rather than size. I know Crean like to move the ball and push the game SO maybe he is going to make the Hoosiers the Hurryin Hoosiers again and try a little from Arkansa's 40 Minutes of Hell.

Guys, how did russell become a KU guy? In RMK's last 10 years, he had 2 Sweet Sixteen's, 1 Elite Eight and 1 Final Four. All of those came between '90 - '93 (still riding the '87 championship). It was all down hill from there. And when did RMK ever consistently get top 25 recruits (HELL, EVER)? Why are we now holding TC to a higher standard than RMK? A couple of Sweet Sixteens and a Final Four? With the way the last season went, a Final Four and 2 Sweet Sixteen's would be good. IU will have to be successful (NCAA Tournament appearances) before any top 20 recruits will commit to IU.

Josh Selby is VERY athletic. I think he can create his own shot and could be a good passer too. Really, how often do you see a guy passing in a highlight video? I don't think we should judge him by that. I'd much rather see dunks and 3 pointers. He also has a nice floater in the lane that could be useful in the Big Ten. We all don't think we will get him, so we are trying not to get our hopes up or even say that we like him, but there is no denying that he is VERY good and would be great in a Hoosier uniform!

That's why I have directv, the only way outside the state of Indiana that you can watch I.U. basketball. Get real joker. But, I also see some very rough times ahead for this program. Notice out of respect to you who, I didn't say our program. I'll stand by my prediction of 2 SWEET sixteen, and one final four in the next 9 years and I submit to you sir that's pretty damn good. Put the cream and crismon glasses down, and I mean business too.

Were not Kentucky, were not Duke, were not UNC, and were not Kansas or UCLA. We may not even be the best basketball team in the state of Indiana. The end of the glory days was with Bailey, and Henderson etc. There is nothing in the recent last 20 years of I.U. history to suggest anything better than 2 sweet sixteen, and one final four appearence. Sorry.

Selby. If it is Indiana (all the better for me), I hope you are successful where ever you end up for your 12 months of clooege life.
