Duke within the ACC talent level has clearly evened out. They are on the same level 'talent' wise as FSU, BC, and Maryland…. UNC and Wake I believe are a cut above. Within that state Duke now has to battle UNC and next door Wake. Visiting Duke is NOT a given anymore….

IU on the other hand, give Crean credit is out recruiting PU within the state, is recruiting on the MSU level, and has fought off OSU within our borders. I believe IU had the highest ranked recruiting class last year with the 09' within the big ten. I just see IU within the conference is on the way up and Duke has leveled off and digressing….hopefully that makes some sense……

For that matter….why would a team finished last in the big ten and Duke fighting over a top 5 player??? It is not grant hills duke anymore…..(your witness)

I would not be that unhappy if we don't get a one and done. We don't have the talent this year to make a difference and we are heavy at the point guard. I would love to see us use the scholly for a big that might play. We have two 7 footers that won't see action this year or next. I thing we are still behind in recruiting, but can make a difference in the next two years. I know everyone loves KI, but we don't need him now. We need him in three years. We should remember, that we will be lucky if we win 12 games. I hate this, because I was there after the 87 championship and throught the Chaney and Henderson years. I lived in Bloomington during the 76 and 81 championship years. Lets not lose focus that we are rebuilding and this will take more than two years to see a B10 championship run.

IU just won six games and finished last in the Big Ten. I don't see how you could argue that IU is in better shape in the Big Ten than Duke is in the ACC.

I am glad Poole was considering IU but I am equally happy we got a guy who is similar athletically and size.

As far as KI…..my thoughts are we are still in great shape. Alex….I could make the case that within our conference we are in better shape than Duke within theirs…Duke's talent level and recruiting has slipped and yes they are still good but this is not your duke of hurley years…..

Having said that I would love a KI committment for 2010 if it didn't happen, I am happy with a J.Davis committment to go along with our Carlino committment for 2011…..

Thanks for doing that research, it always interesting to see comparative stats like that.

I think for this class it doesn't really matter if we land a big player, but for 2011 I'd like to see us get at least 2. You want those big men to be juniors the year after the class of 2009 leaves, IMO.

no surprise with Poole. Always felt like we were on the outside looking in with him. Is still good to have been in consideration with him and it is always good to secure some recruiting ties to Florida. Interesting how now that Darrin Horn is at South Carolina there have been a few guys they are recruiting that we are also after. The Crean/Horn relationship might make for some interesting recruiting battles down the road…and as far as KI goes, I'm on my hands and knees every day: Kyrie, please please please come to IU!
