Around the Hall: Jordan Hulls is Mr. Basketball

by Alex Bozich in Media | April 12th, 2009

Around the Hall is recommended reading from the Inside the Hall crew.

+ Hugh Kellenberger of The Herald Times writes that Hulls deserved Mr. Basketball because no other player in the state did more to make his team better. {The Hoosier Scoop}

+ Kyle Neddenriep of The Indianapolis Star profiles Hulls and finds that all of the doubters help motivate the future IU point guard. {The Indianapolis Star}

+ A list of past winners of Mr. Basketball {Indiana Daily Student}

Quotable:

That’s what keeps me motivated. I love reading I’m too small and too slow, or my shot isn’t good enough. It makes me work that much harder.” – Hulls on how he reacts to criticism claiming he isn’t tall enough or strong enough to play big time college basketball.

    Based on that quote by Jordan Hulls....here is what I predict by the end of his career....

    1. He will be all big ten
    2. He will be lead the big ten in assist
    3. He will be 'Tom Coverdale' loved by the IU fans
    4. He will become the leader of the team sooner rather than later
    5. If he doesn't play professional ball, Crean will hire him as a coach
    6. He will be the guy on the team that puts the dagger in the other team via a big three, taking a charge, or setting up someone for a layup.

    This kid gets it! "It's Indiana"

    he's not the highest rated incoming freshman, but when it's all said and done, i think he may just be the most important. if he doesn't go pro after college, i imagine he will work in pr because he's always saying the right things!

    I know you guys are smart so I trust you are correct. Still, I did not see any comments about stifling defense or even good defense concerning the Derby Classic play of any recruits..........not just ours. This is where the difference will be made.

    I think all the guys will play better defense come the season. I think its a situation similar to the nba all star games where guys are just showcasing their offensive ability.
