They are going to need guys like Williams and Jones to contribute in a big way next year. I know we are all excited about the studs coming in, but the experienced guys improving over this year is key as well.

I came into the season expecting Williams to be our best freshman, but came away sold on Jones. Although I really appreciated Williams effort. I am glad that Coach beat out Minnesota for VDJ services.

I am looking forward to see how he improves during the off season.

As my colleague Zach Osterman has noted a bunch this year – In Crean's offense there isn't a whole heck of a difference between the point guard and two guard. Both need to be able to dribble and drive. (See Marquette's James/McNeil/Matthews combinations.)

Even with Rivers and Hulls occupying the #1 when on the court, I would anticipate Jones to be getting a lot of time next year and making the same great strides witnessed at the end of the season.

IMO, Jones will play off-guard next year, Crean put him at 1guard this year to develope on his dribbles, but with hulls and rivers next year, Verdell will become a beast at 2. Gotta start downing those protein shakes though, hahah

Also did you guys hear Lav during the BTT game ripping on Weber for not giving VJ3 a scholy….pretty funny.
