Quotable: “I’m proud to have coached him, and I know we’ve got more time but when it is senior night you want to make sure that everyone understands. I’ve been demanding of him, as our whole staff has and I’ve been hard on him, as our whole staff has because we have always looked at him as being a very, very valuable part of what we are doing here. He has done that. I am proud of the way he has contributed, proud of the way he has continued to improve. And proud he is a part of Indiana Basketball.” – Tom Crean on Kyle Taber.

I watched Irving play the other night on tv out here in the NYC area. He played exactly as they described. I can see why we want him but he would seriously challenge Hulls for PT.

I will stand up and clap for Taber alone in front of the tv tonight , he deserves it.
  • Will they show the senior part of the night on TV? as far as the speaches, etc?
  • Doubt it. If it were on the Big Ten Network, then I would say yes. But with it being on ESPN, I'd say the chances aren't very good. BTN might have footage on their site or perhaps IU will release it on IUHoosiers.com.

Hopefully at halftime they will take some time to discuss the human interest aspect of our season. If not I am going to stand up anyway and hoist a glass or 2 of old vine grenache in appreciation of Taber. Maybe create a shrine in the home theater to him.

I wonder what other players in IU history have been loved at the time but have faded to obscurity as time moves on. Vernon Payne, Tom Bolyard , Bootsie WHite ???

Also if not on tv maybe we can get the video on ITH

Awww teague may pick Louisville, I am crushed. Now we are stuck with Jordan Hulls a true pg, who can run a team, make a shot, and do all of that without reminding his opponant that he just scored............
