I choked on my swig of beer when I saw Jobe snare a rebound like a real basketball player. I still want to see him at least swat one shot down into somebody's face this year.

Jerry,

I agree with a lot of these points. However, I have disagree a little bit on Nick Williams, who I think found himself a bit last night.

Williams had a strong game last night. He showed he can knock down some mid range jumpers, which we've been lacking for years. I think he just needs to learn to assert himself, so while I agree that he can step up more, we definitely saw progress last night.

I also think Story needs to find his 3 point shot more often. How many has he even attempted? I heard this guy was a shooter, but I haven't seen him popping it as much I thought he might.

Ok, let me finally admit that we're pretty darn terrible. I'm not discouraged, but I really expected a little bit more out of this team, despite all the obstacles we faced. Notre Dame is much better than I recalled. Jackson was especially tough.

Anyway, I echo a lot of the sentiments.

I'll sum it up with this thought I had last night. I looked at my girlfriend (who's pretty knowledgable on this stuff) and I said "I could watch this team play for another 20 minutes even though we're getting it handed to us."

We hustled, we never stopped fighting, and we continue to have guys like Pritchard show up on a nightly basis.

Random Positives That Come to Mind:

1. Pritchard played like a man against Harangody.
2. Williams showed me he's got a jumpshot (Assert yourself more Nick!)
3. Dumes is quick enough to beat anybody off the dribble (result isn't always great, but still)
4. We never stopped working our butts off
5. We actually ran some offense, penetrated, tried to kick it out. It wasn't always pretty, but we were working on doing things the right way.

Keep it up Hoosiers!

Also, looked like great support out there from the IU faithful. That was really nice to see.

Overall, IU's play was sloppy, and they got their butts handed to them. But, ND is a talented, complete and most importantly, seasoned team. I would have liked us to keep it closer, but ND played a pretty solid game, so I wasn't shocked as they continued to build their lead throughout their game. Plus, Crean pulled the plug before Brey did, and the last five or six minutes were simply about getting some other guys on the floor. I like the move, because our guys played very hard and they will need another outstanding effort tomorrow to get that victory.

As the announcers mentioned time and again, Pritchard has some nice moves on the interior, but struggled to score. He was in position to put in well over 20 points. It will be enjoyable to watch him develop his touch.

After just three games, I think Dumes is our best player. He is the only one that really looks comfortable out there right now. Williams also looked really good.

Everyone else seemed tentative, and I thought we missed out on a number of scoring opportunities by not just pulling the trigger (obviously not talking about Roth here).

Good effort. Tough loss. I can't wait to see how they respond tomorrow. They gave alot of effort. I hope they don't come out flat.

I agree with most everyone else, and optimism still reigns in my mind about the future of Hoosier basketball despite the final score. Also, I am really intrigued by the game with the Hawks tomorrow. They are usually a solid A10 team, which typically equates to a middle-of-the-pack Big Ten team. A good showing or even a win against them and my hopes for the Hoosiers in conference really shoot up. However, I'm still bracing because they had a better showing against a top 10 team today than IU.

I was pleased with the game, once again, I think even though they lost, there was improvement. Yes, they were outrebounded, but they did block out better. Hey, Jobe even got two great rebounds! Even he looked better, at least he looked like a ballplayer.

While Moore and Fink are both sparkplugs, both are also defensive liabilities because of their size and neither is a scoring threat. With one of them and Jobe in the game, the offense is hog-tied.

Pritchard gets better every game. Saw flashes of offense from Williams and Story.

The could give St Joseph's a game tomorrow.
