Okay...the "Bad's":

We can't rebound 'cause we're really small on the interior, and the box-out thingy hasn't been applied, yet. And, we're really, REALLY small on the interior. That's gonna hurt bad as the season progresses.

The "Good's": Simple....Daniel Moore. In the two wins we have had, Moore has been the difference. His presence glues this team up. He plays with the confidence of a seasoned, scholarship starter. Fearless passer. That kid passes so well the (really small) dudes on the blocks don't quite know what to do when they get it between the letters. If I were Crean, I'd get Moore inked ASAP. Moore has that intangible that so many coaches want...he makes other players better.

Other notables are Roth's fearless trigger, our strong team speed and conditioning and Pritchard's chippiness....he seems to be involved in just about everything.

Two games in, this is a fun team to watch. Good character, good coach, good effort. Good luck when Izzo rolls into the Hall!!

I went to St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer for undergrad. One year, our football team traveled to Indiana St. for a game, and we road-tripped with them. All night, the PA announcer for ISU kept calling us the "Pyumas!" We were like, "No, moron, it's Poomas!"

So, yeah, I picked up on that whole Jagwires thing, too.

Gosh...you know...I wish I could remember who it was that told us that Daniel Moore would be the brightest glimmer on this team this year. I just can't remember who it was now. Help me out, someone.

I think folks' expectations are still a bit high. To paraphrase Dennis Green, this team is who we thought they were. And let's admit it, isn't it more fun to root for this team than any squad in the recent past. Outside of D.J. and Errek Suhr, who was an IU player last year that you personally invested your heart in, rather than your passion for an IU win. These guys may not win a lot, but they'll be more worthy of our interest than the dispassionate lugs we've seen in recent years.

That said, Purdue and Michigan State are going to pound us this year. And so are quite a few others. And Tijan Jobe is a great diversion. He was 40 feet away from the basket by himself at one point last night while nine guys were under the net going for a rebound. He's going to be a hoot.

Cousins wants UAB to agree (in writing) to release him from the LOI if Mike Davis leaves the program. So far, UAB is saying no. So....if UAB doesn't budge they could lose him. And remember....Cousins and our own Nick Williams went to high school together. Williams was going to Marquette then was released (after a while) when Crean came to IU.

Well, we have a few days that we can see we are undefeated :D.

Btw, has anyone heard anything about Cousins and his situation at UAB? He was interested in IU before he committed, wonder what the story is now

Monday reality sets in out in Maui.

I hope Crean and the team find a way to take away some positive things instead of gettng discouraged. We are going to need a sense of humor this season.

Dumes is a very streaky shooter. He could go for 28 some nights, and some nights he might not hit 10. I love his confidence and, (like everyone on this team) his attitude though.

That being said, Williams or Story need to emerge as a consistent scorer. That may be asking too much out of true freshmen playing out of position, but they are the two most talented players on the team. When Dumes is on a cold streak and Pritchard is in foul trouble, the scoring has to come from one of those two guys.

I like Moore as much as everyone, but Jones needs to be the starter, and step up. Him and Dume have been inconsistent so far, but all of those easy layups Eamon has talked about, many came at the expense of Moore. Moore still should and needs to play, but Jones needs to be the point guard that gets the most minutes. I hope he stays consistent.

I can't belive i'm saying this but this team's best player is Jeremiah Rivers. In the scrimmages he was the best perimiter defender, and he ran the offense as smooth as Moore. (Plus he had a three point shot.)

That being said, Notre Dame is going to be an ugly game, i'm just hoping the effort stays the same even if they're getting blown out.

I have no clue about this team, how much better can they really play. Roth definitely shot well, but against athletic teams will he be able to get the shot off. I think Moore should start over Jones, Jones cannot dribble at all. I still believe Williams will be the best player out of this group. I stand by my comment on him being the future Ron Artest, hopefully, to include jumping in the stands and punching an Illni fan. I worry about Pritchard against anyone remotely athletic. I honestly would play Jobe/Story over Taber once we start losing games. First of all its hilarious and two we may as well see if he can get any better. Finklemeir should never play...ever
