Around the Hall: Gordon, Vaden, UNC and more

by Alex Bozich in Media | June 17th, 2008

– Eric Gordon completed his third and final pre-draft workout on Monday for the Los Angeles Clippers. Gordon also worked out for Seattle and New York, but the Clippers at No. 7 seem to be the most realistic option of the three. “He’s got pro 3-point range,” Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said afterwards. {Catching the Clippers}

– Our old friend Robert Vaden came to his senses and pulled his name out of the NBA Draft on Monday. Vaden was projected as a second round pick at best by a majority of the mock drafts. {Indiana Daily Student}

– The thought of IU matching up with North Carolina in Maui just got a lot scarier. Wayne Ellington, Ty Lawson and Danny Green all pulled their names out of the NBA Draft, making UNC the overwhelming choice for preseason No. 1. {AOL FanHouse}

– 2009 commitment Bobby Capobianco was invited to the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, Virginia and will team up with Stephan Van Treese and Roger Franklin. Van Treese visited Bloomington on Monday and met with Indiana coach Tom Crean. {ESPN.com}

    I checked out the performance numbers from the NBA's testing in Orlando. Gordon, Rose, Bayless are going to be tough to choose between, especially now that we know Bayless is almost as big as Gordon ( 1/4" shorter, 7lbs lighter ).

    By the same token Vaden scored very low including alot shorter than he was listed at . He would have been a stretch at even the 2nd round

    I like playing UNC in Maui . It gives us an early season lesson as to ho far we need to develop to be a good team.
  • I think Bayless to Seattle at No. 4 is a lock. It's looking like Mayo and Bayless are both going ahead of EJ for sure.

    Wow, UNC will be ridiculously good next season.
  • Yea, just imagining Kyle Taber trying to guard Hansbrough makes me cringe.

    Vaden went back to UAB ("help is on the way! Again!") and the speculation is that Vaden is waiting for an NBA team to offer Coach Davis a job so Vaden can follow him there too!

    Cross your fingers, grab your lucky rabbit's foot, four leaf clover, we need it to get Negedu. A small prayer probably wouldn't hurt either.

    Katz has Purdue preseason top 10 for 2008-2009. MSU and Wisconsin also in the top 25.
