Because, despite all the negative publicity, Greenspan is a pretty smart, savvy guy....far too smart to not have recognized the need for tight monitoring of the phone call situation given KS's history...it just doesn't make sense that they didn't have tighter monitoring in place. But with the specific termination clauses in KS's contract maybe Greenspan thought the best way to get rid of a bad hire would be to have that bad hire fire themselves - maybe even by somehow violating his contract without committing a major violation....like I said, this is all pure speculation. I guess I just needed to scratch the conspiracy theory itch this afternoon....
