Well, after I posted the above, a reliable source at ESPN confirmed to the board administrator at guboards.com that Gonzaga is definitely on for the HOF game with Indiana. However, I still haven't determined whether the Boston location is correct or whether the game will end up in Indianapolis as originally slated.

As a Gonzaga fan, I was excited to see this post but decided to e-mail the folks at the HOF to see if it were possible to confirm the date and location of the game and whether Gonzaga was confirmed to play. This was the response I received this morning:

"Details have not been confirmed, but the games for the '08-'09 event will most likely take place in Indianapolis. Gonzaga has not been confirmed. There will be a formal announcement once details are firmed up."

Shoot. Waiting for schedules to be firmed up is a pain!

no expectations (regarding wins) but I would like to see a fundamentally sound, hard-working team.

IU may not win any of those games, but the experience our young players will get going to Rupp and WF will be great. So I look at this as a great schedule with an opportunity to get some confidence with an early win over a heavily favored opponent...no likely, but crazier things have happened.

I liked having the game in Indy because it allows more people to see the game. I think both teams will have a hard time winning on the road if they continue the series as a home and home. Hopefully, it'll move back to Indy/Louisville after the next two meetings.

I wouldn't say unfortunately. It evens out at the end. Besides, with all the Indy/Louisville dates, I'm willing to risk a loss at Rupp for a chance to beat you guys in Assembly two years from now.

BTW, Big A, I linked the post on Leonard Washington over at my blog. Swing by sometime and say hello! Of course, the closer to December we get, the less welcoming we might be. :)

Gonzaga could crap in a can, say it's their team, and they'd still be in the preseason top 20.

i just wonder what would happen if Butler's jerseys said "Gonzaga" on them. they would've been a top-five team and a two-seed last year.

Hey as AC/DC once said, "It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'N' roll!" The good news is that expectations cannot be too high, so I think it will give the kids some time to grow and mature. We are going to very young and very raw but, if we can keep everyone together for 3-4 years we are going to have a good group of upperclassmen with a ton of experience.
