Definitely, upperclassmen still win in college basketball. The key is having juniors and seniors that were big time recruits and whether it was an early career injury or whatever they decided to stay.

Similar to DJ staying at IU, except UNC and those schools have 7 DJ White's not just one.

Yep, the teams that have juniors and seniors on the roster playing big minutes arethe teams that have been rockin and rollin in the NCAA tourney. Could oyou imagine Butler with just one ” big time stud” on the team in the last few years??

I've stated this before, but I think if you look at recent trends the schools that have been winning titles are the schools who brought in a bunch of kids that were projected as “1 and done”, but for some reason stayed until their junior year. UNC with May, McCants and Felton, Kansas recently with Rush, Arthur and Chalmers and there are other examples. Even Florida, although their “big three” weren't considered one and done, all three could have left before they did.

Strangely enough, UNC has retained players at a pretty high rate over the past few years. Yeah, they have three guys testing the waters this year, but if two of them aren't back (probably all three), then I'd be very, very surprised.

You're assuming that attention from K won't automatically vault him to the top of the list, as it seems to do so often. I heard an interview on the local radio a couple months ago about how McDonald's all-americans sometimes only become McDonald's all-americans only because either Duke or UNC or both are interested in the kid.

Maybe he'll end up going to Duke, but then see that he doesn't fit into the system there and transfer out, like Taylor King. I mean, it's not like Duke isn't guard heavy, as well.
