i'd love to have those players too mike, but i'm not so sure that they exist anymore. let's face it, all of the kids in high school today weren't even born the last time IU won a National Championship, and they were fthree years old or younger the last time IU was #1 in the polls.

kids now commit based on playing opportunities and on coaches. let's hope for kids that will play hard for Crean instead of the outdated "keeds that bleed IU." only the walk-ons do that anymore...

It's because now these kids play something like 75 AAU games in the summer and are probably teammates with some of the Kentucky kids. Look at the kid from Ohio we just signed for next year, he plays on an Indiana AAU team and plays with those guys way more than he even plays with his own high school team.

High school basketball is a changing world and it's a national landscape, not local anymore. Gone are the days (for the most part) where kids grow up dreaming of playing at IU because that's all they've ever known and seen.

That's the problem with most of the players today. Back in the day, if you were from Indiana and a High School All-star, it was very important to beat Kentucky and sweep the series then come to IU and beat them once a year. That was one of highlights of most of the player's careers. Know it's just another game to these young kids.

No. I don't care if it's Michael Jordan reincarnated. I don't want them playing for IU, if they want to play for IU's rivals instead. I'll take someone who is a true Hoosier or bleeds crimson, and they don't have to be from Indiana to be a real Hoosier- ala Reggie Miller, Isiah Thomas, etc...

Do you think kids in Indiana still think of IU and Kentucky as big rivals? It just seems like over the last 10 years it has been rare to find a year when both teams were competitive on the national level at the same time. I'm not very dialed in to this any more - do kids in Indiana still see Kentucky as archrivals?

go watch ferguson play at LN this year and tell me that you "don't want that so-called Indiana kid" wearing Cream and Crimson. as for zeller, IU really couldn't use a 7-footer. we'd all much rather have deandre down low...right?
