Again, “big men” in Crean's scheme donot count whatsoever ………….unless they can handle the ball, pass and move around the floor. If you guys are waiting for Hasheem Thabeet or Roy Hibbert then forget about it. That is not the Crean team he wants. Forget about ever having the Lopez twins or Patrick Ewing.

If Capobianco can handle and play facing the rim then he is perfect for what Crean is after.

if he is actually 6 ft 8 and not just listed at 6 ft 8, then that is a good size for a college big man. him being a quality player is more important than those extra one or two inches. there aren't that many quality big men that are 6 ft 10 or bigger. if crean can land van tresse, that would give IU 3 potentially quality big men in one recruiting class. thats a great way to build a program. if crean can land a quality pg and then somehow get Stephenson (he loved IU when he came for hoosier hysteria but I haven't heard anything from him about crean) then it will be a very very very good first recruiting class. even without stephenson, it'd be a good first class

There's his full stat line. Led his conference in ppg, rpg, and bpg. Looks like a solid player, although, like many IU "big men" of the past, he's significantly smaller than most elite big men.

While he sounds like a very good recruit, he is not what most IU fans want in a "Big Man."

In fact he is not as big as DJ was and all last year everyone was still asking "why we had no big man recruited."

He looks like a good forward but I will be excited when I hear that we have signed a 6'10"+ or bigger that can run the floor and moves well.

I feel two more recruits coming both will be guards one of which being Nick Williams. This is great Hoosier fans are going to start falling in love with Crean and I really think he's the man to put us back on the map, I'm so excited for this umpcoming basketball season I can hardly wait.

I hope he keeps Elston gets and lands Van Tresse. Hopefully no more scholarship sanctions from the NCAA and he can recruit comfortably…

I think they will still go after Van Treese, BUT I am more of a fan of Derek Elston, more versatile.

I was kind of hoping they would go after Stephan Van Tresse, the big man from Lawrence North. he also plays for Elite. Maybe they could still get him, never hurts to have too many quality big men thats for sure, but I don't know our scholarship situation and I think that Crean has to make a hard run at Lance Stephenson and then probably a quality point guard. Still lots of time to figure all of this out though, I guess I like this because he does fill a need
