I dunno. There's a lot of people selling Carolina stock right now. Might be a good time to pick some up as the price falls.

I'm not very sold on Memphis. They have been pretty good over the past few years, but they are only going to be as good as their recruiting classes. What do most recruits like about possibly playing for Memphis? Up-tempo offense, which translates to quick buckets, higher offensive stats, and a faster lane to the NBA.

I don't buy on Ohio State, Florida, or Texas either. Just like football will never compete with basketball at Indiana, basketball will never compete with football at any of these schools. The superstars of these three schools are their football coaches.

Here's my thoughts:
1) You can't pick a school with a top flight football program. Florida and Texas are automatically out because no matter how many titles they win, the basketball programs will never be bigger than the football programs. The same is true for Ohio State and Wisconsin.
2) You can't go wrong with long term success. UNC, UCLA, Indiana, Kansas, and Kentucky will always be held to a higher standard than any other program. They've had more success and for longer than anyone else. To put it simply, banners talk.
3) Louisville is another title or two away from joining that elite status. It's in that same category with Duke as "good program but not quite Elite".
4) Georgetown has one title. There are lots of programs with one title. There just isn't a compelling reason to include Georgetown on this list.
5) Memphis plays in an extraordinarily weak conference. They're always going to have inflated win totals. I'll withhold judgement until they win a title (which could be soon).

My personal buys: Indiana, Memphis, and Tennessee.

Well I've always been told stocks were a long term investment and one shouldn't buy for the short term, therefore we are low in this list. For a long term investment IU should be in the top 10 instead of teams like Memphis and Texas. IU has performed very well over the years, is currently experiencing a downturn and will go back up. This is a great time to buy IU for new investors, and long termers would be riding it out already reaping huge profifs from it. So, this just reflects the current trend. Me, IU is a buy right now.

Well if this is stocks, then we're almost a definite buy. We can only go up from here.

Buy low, Sell high. I'd pick up Syracuse and Ohio St for immediate return. As a riskier investment how about Tubby's Gophers? I could see them go from nothing to a Big Ten power quickly. If I were looking for a long term consistent investment I'd buy Indiana and Kentucky. Two down programs that should be at least a top 5 program on average over the next 20 years. Can i move my 401k money to IU and Kentucky??

In stocks you try to buy low and sell high. As a result the first 4 donot look like good buys to me. I would rate IU a "buy" since we are at our bottom with nowhere to go but up
