Crean has already shown that he can recruit young unknown talent and getting the best out of them ( aka Dominic James and Dwayne Wade). I think the resources that IU will bring will help Crean evolve to a better overall coach. But it helps Indiana that he helped make Dwayne Wade such a star, it gives other recurits the thought that he knows how to make them great players and that as long as they fit into his system they can make deep tourney runs.
