Gameday Reading:

As always, your predictions and analysis are welcome in the game thread. Recap will be late tonight due to the fact that I’ll be at Conseco. Poor me.

Whats up with that logo? Looks like a bad cheesy Olypics Logo or a State Fair Logo. Anyway. I hope they got a little bit of thier stuff together because this should definately be a win. I liked DD's comments abotu teh Ellis suspension about how he leads in kids transferring and sending him laters back saying their sorry because it was a bad decision. he said e is doing it for the kids best interests but its his way or the highway. That was good to here maybe he's putting his foot down finally. (Still don't want him as HC). Let's see if theres been a spark lit tonight. I say IU by 8

  • ALH_00

I can't see the Gophers getting IU in Indy. The only possible way that happens is if Coleman can get DJ in foul trouble (he's very good around the basket), Gordon continues his shooting slump and can't get to the line, and McKenzie and Co. light it up from distance. Minny has too much stacked against it in this one…despite IU's recent problems.

At the risk of putting the cart before the horse, I sure hope PU gets the win today, both because I really want IU/PU pt. 2 (even though in all fairness the game should be played at Mackie) and because I don't want to play IL again.

More than anything, I want to see IU's talent shine this weekend. If they can play three games in three days, maybe they can get back in some rhythm.

  • HoosierSmitty

Is Tollackson going to play? I heard he might not.

Either way, I think IU has enough juice to pull this one out and take on the Boilers tomorrow.

  • Nick

I don't know what to think about tonight. I was gonna go down to Conseco and watch the game but decided not to spend the money since I'm not sure what team is going to show up!!! On paper it should be like an easy home win, but IU hasn't had one of those since the fiasco that was KS! Everything has been tight and difficult since that day! I think with a few days off and DD putting his foot down on Ellis that something will give and maybe that spark will come back, but realistically, this is a lost cause! I can't see how this team can rally behind DD because they're too hung up on KS! I understand how they feel, but as a former college baseball player, coach or no coach I played to win . . . but kids don't seem to feel that way anymore. It's all about their future NBA contract and shoe endorsement and what “I” can do for “me”!!!

Not sure, I'd say it's 50/50 at this point.

  • Ryan_Btown

Damn Big 10 network…another game I have to go somewhere else to watch…IT'S THE BIG 10 TOURNEY! MINNESOTA V. NORTHWESTERN WAS ON TV FOR GOODNESS SAKES!

  • BrianK

What a score in the Michigan/Wisconsin game! How can you score just 34 points?

  • ALH_00

You can ask MSU that same question (@ Iowa)…sounds like a HS girls game. But, Wisc. always plays (and wins) the low-scoring games.

  • BrianK

Would love a 2nd game against PU and third time hopefully the charm against Wisconsin

  • JamesHardy

So let me get this straight…Ellis gets suspended…comes back…and STARTS??? WTF????

  • JamesHardy

The exterior “saw blade” looking things are the 11 Big 10 teams' colors. Other than that…maybe someone did too much acid..who knows?

  • BrianK

game suspension was punishment not losing position also.

  • IRISHP1MP

Alright listen up guys, I have the solution for the next coach at IU….ERIN ANDREWS..Think about it it's a win win for everyone. 1st What 18-22 year straight male wouldn't want to see that every practice, thus we get the top recruits in the nation. 2nd during games it makes listening to Steve Lavin and Musberger tolerable to listen to, because they sweat her as much as I do. 3rd when she has to bend over to pick up her clipboard during timeouts, I can pause my DVR at just the right time and swoosh I win…..see guys it's a nobrainer we need to see her walk the sideline every game….Good luck Erin..hope to see you soon

  • B (MD)

    That's not a bad idea.

I'll tell you one thing, after watching Pitt-Marquette I have taken Tom Crean and Jaime Dixon off my wish list. Neither was at the top, but they were on the list. It has nothing to do with their coaching skills or style of play. They might be the two most annoying coaches to watch. Dixon is halfway onto the court most of the time and Crean is constantly running up and down the sideline with his hands behind his back.

As someone that played college basketball (D2, not claiming to have been on the same stage as these guys) there is noting more annoying or distracting than hearing your coach screaming the whole game and acting like an idiot on the sideline.

  • Tim

Score? Anyone? I'm stuck in an apartment in NYC.

  • B (MD)

down 5 with 1:49 to go.

  • peaychris

pathetic…. this is retarted… this is going to be the way its is for the next two years..maybe i am just a little depressed

WHY DOES THE BTN EXIST FU<KFU<KFu<KFU<KFU<K!

  • B (MD)

DJ White tipped in Gordon's missed free throw to tie game with 3 seconds…

  • peaychris

:) i love dj he so tough!

  • B (MD)

I know I'm in Maryland and ESPN News is on three ESPn channels and SportsCenter is on ESPN, but I guess they don't have rights to look-in live to Big Ten games…Sucks

  • Tim

0:03 57-57 INDIANA D.J. White made Two Point Layup.
    0:04 57-55 INDIANA D.J. White Offensive Rebound.
0:04 57-55 INDIANA Eric Gordon missed Free Throw.
    0:04 57-55 INDIANA Rebound
0:04 57-55 INDIANA Eric Gordon missed Free Throw.
0:04 57-55 MINNESOTA Foul on Lawrence McKenzie

How can anyone say Gordon is a better player than DJ. Gordon is anti clutch on so many levels

  • peaychris

but ej is just like the oasis song… GAS PANIC!!

  • Tim

if gordon makes the first and then DJ tips in the second we win, or makes any of his late game FT misses GRRRR

  • peaychris

looks like DJ missed one too!

  • Tim

I've doubled the comments since i've come haha

  • Tim

  • B (MD)

You could argue that I started it with my post:)

Since we can't see the game, I guess this is the next best thing.

    NOOOOOO

how has no time run off the clock?

  • Chris

I cannot believe that just happened.

  • B (MD)

That pretty much summed up the season right there. A glimmer of hope, things are starting to look good, then bam it all ends badly.

  • jgongora

I can't wait till this f*%^ing season is over. I wish I could be more poetic, but thats how I feel.

  • Tim

I hate IU athletics Football and basketball will both blow for the next 2-5 years. A great time to be a hoosier! When does soccer and Men's Swimming/diving start

  • dabig

On the bright side, there's only one more loss I have to swallow until November. I mean, I don't think they're bad enough to lose a game after the season is over. Are they?

  • peaychris

ok i am living here in alabama and i have to conciede that the sec is a superior conference in everything. this big ten is for the birds. i would love for illinois to win the big ten so everyone here can tell me how shitty the big ten is. i cant beleive they have their own f..ing TV station!

  • BrianK

Well ladies and gentlemen, we have our Christian Laettner moment. Poor ass shooting. Was good to see the way they were coming together and how excited they were towards teh end but we could of used that the whole game

  • Tim

i'm too depressed to go drink, I'm going to bed

  • BrianK

What was up with substituting Crawford for Taber after the first missed freethrow? I understand it was for offense but he was obviously going to try to miss and if Taber would of been there he had the height to of gotten it.

  • peaychris

not me i just cracked open a miller light!

  • Doug

Thanks Kelvin for making those extra couple of phone calls and three way calls. Really fucking worth it. I can't wait til this season is over. I only feel bad for DJ, but my God make a freakin free throw.

  • Don D

What a great coaching job DD did tonight. The same thing that got us beat at Penn State got us beat again tonight. Does this coaching staff have the guts to tell Eric Gordan stop shooting the 3 point shot? Maybe since the university decided to fire KS no one would be disappointed if they fired the team. Get this bullshit over now and hire new coach, AD and wait until next season.
