It was clear after 30 seconds that Davis was a poor speaker. He should have received training, with extensive role-playing, before he was anywhere near a microphone. Not that it would have helped his coaching or recruiting, but wow, was he a bad public speaker. And people at IU should have done something about that before they let him represent the university to the nation.
