As always, your predictions, analysis and comments are welcome in the game thread.

  • Need to look for D.J. and if Thomas, Mike White or Stemler want to possibly show up for the game, that'd be great as well.

  • SanDiegoIUfan

They are completely destroying us on the boards, and there isn't a thing we can do about it. Too much size.

  • peaychris

i am telling you it looks like TUO might break it open for us

  • SanDiegoIUfan

Crawford….2 bad looks 2 hits. Unbelievable.

  • J-Mo

Steve you were saying about Crawford??? Take your negative a$$ and go cheer for some other team!!!

  • HoosierSmitty

you are a prophet…those were wild uncalled for threes….but they went in…i mean the only reason he shot that first one was because the shot clock was winding down and he could say “shot clock winding down coach..had to shoot” …but nonetheless…

    Sweet…

  • peaychris

look i LOVE crawford in this situation.. IU looks tight and they are playing very scared but TUO just wants to take it over

  • Hopefully Sampson lets Ratliff play for more than 3 minutes.

  • HoosierSmitty

yeah he definitely has no fear….so i hear what you're saying…let's just hope he uses some brains…which is what he's shown a major lack of this season..

  • I spoke too soon. Unbelievable.

  • HoosierSmitty

Our lack of intelligence is baffling….

  • drode

-DJ needs to learn how to use the glass on that little turn around jumper
-Everytime I feel like driving to bloomington and strangling crawford he does something to calm my nerves
-If we continue to play this nba style offense and do not move the ball, and make cuts this team will go nowhere.
-I am happy to see the team's defense improve almost every game. If they were playing the same defense they were at the beginning of the season, we would be down by 20.

  • HoosierSmitty

Too bad there is a shot clock or I'd just say hold it IU so we can be put out of our misery

  • peaychris

    13-46 (28.3%)

    enough said

  • peaychris

how often do you shoot better than 50% from 3 and be getting you ass kicked??

  • HoosierSmitty

I thought the NBA crap went with Mike Davis…but we look just horrible…we're being exposed as the Top 10 frauds that we are…and if there was ever a “Timmy” wake up call..maybe this will be the game..it's non conference and won't cost our Big Ten title chances….we better start planning for Wisconsin now cause this game is toast…

I'm usually not this negative but this is the most pathetic display of “basketball” I've EVER EVER EVER seen in my 27 + years of life on this planet.

  • peaychris

    its over

  • Is this the worst game Gordon has played this year?

  • HoosierSmitty

yep this is horrible…I seriously question Sampson's coaching ability….at least with this group of players…every timeout we come back on the court looking worse…

  • drode

No, this is the worst game he has played in his life.

  • HoosierSmitty

I almost want to call Stemler “The One” because that's all he's good for..THE ONE big shot….lol…..keep hope alive …i'm going to take a shot of whiskey now…

  • peaychris

they have no rythm. it looks like they have the crimson jerseys on and they are playing on the road. i like crawford better in this situation than a EJ that has no flow

  • HoosierSmitty

Four fouls on EJ…take him out and let AJ come in and miraculously take over the game with Crawford!!!

  • SanDiegoIUfan

Maybe. Why is he swiping at the ball like that? Awful.

  • peaychris

NO URGENCY!!!!! WALKING ALL THE TIME!!!!! I HATE THIS

  • HoosierSmitty

So this is the second “good team” we've played and the second time we've gotten embarrassed…interesting..

  • HoosierSmitty

Uh Oh…a timeout….IU's going to get KILLED off this….Calhoun v. Sampson…yeah…let's see how that coaching battle turns out….

This is ridiculous…all the naysayers of IU are being proven right today and it's just infuriating…

  • peaychris

    foul?

  • SanDiegoIUfan

He has hit some also. Without DJ this is a 20/30 point blowout.

  • peaychris

to little to late… this is the team we will be next year… look its like EJ and DJ werent even in the game!

  • HoosierSmitty

Let's foul the best foul shooter again… i think that's what I'd say

  • HoosierSmitty

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ……we have no intelligence…….not even the tiniest bit….

  • SanDiegoIUfan

I have to agree with you there. I can understand trying to get a foul but we need 3 pointers, not 2.

  • HoosierSmitty

    Here's a wild thought…

We've sucked at twos because we try and change our shots in the lane….SO DO NOT TRY IT…

We've been awesome at threes and we need all the points we can get…HMMMM>>>>SHOOT A THREE????

What did we do the last two possessions….? Drive to the lane and PRAY that something good happens….

  • HoosierSmitty

Thanks Bassett..let's make it look good

  • Was this the Mike Davis memorial offense?

  • peaychris

well this doesnt look good for the “overrated in everything” big ten does it?

  • dont want to be negative but the only two NCAA Tournament-caliber teams IU has played so far this season (Xavier, UConn), they've lost to.

this team has a looong way to go and isn't even in the same area code as some of the Final Four favorites like Memphis.

  • drode

Well I am now going to to two things. One of which rarely ever happens, and the other happens rather frequently. Watch the Purdue v Wisconsin game and root for Purdue. The other one being DRINK LOTS OF BEER!

  • dabig

The offense looks like 5 guys playing pick-up down at the Y. There's very little help side defense. And I don't even want to think about how bad the defensive rebounding is.

  • steve

The solution to our offensive problems are simple SET A SCREEN FOR A SHOOTER. All of this one on one shit is killing me. The only reason why we have won this year is because most of the opponents have no athleticism. Gordon needs to watch some old tapes of Alford moving without the ball.

  • Kelin

This one is clear….TODAY IU WAS OUTCOACHED…….
    1. Thabeet is 9ft tall and gets tired thinking about running, yet we may have had 4 fast break points.

    2. The last time this team hit a 3 was when Rip Hamilton was there…why not a zone?

    3. I would say EJ for the season may have had 5-7 screens set for him…TOPS.

    4. DT and DJ could play together better if …..they actually worked together. DT cannot score often with just moves, but if we actually used (dare i say it) screens to help get him open…it might just work.

    5. for future reference….we need a pure point guard.

    6. Interesting thought, what is Matt Roth going to do at IU? Maybe he BYOS (Bring your own screeners)

    * Tough loss, a good win at Wisconsin could help, still happy (not satisfied) where we are now in the season.

    * Billy Keller Pacer ABA great said here in Indy on Friday, EJ is a great great player and shooter but needs to work on the …..Mid Range game and ball handling. Welcome to your sophmore year EJ.

  • dabig

I just Googled “motion offense basketball” and got 91,000 hits. Just a suggestion . . .
