Just an editorial nit-pick, but Sampson does have an Assembly Hall loss. I'm pretty sure he brought Washington St. in a ways back for one of IU's walkover holiday tournaments. I know you meant his record as IU's headcoach…

Ever the negative reasoner, Timmy finds a way to inform us all how Indiana sucks in some way...although you're probably pretty accurate, Timmy.

Another nice W against a team we should have beaten...still can't complain about 5-0 and first place in the Big Ten.

A lot less TOs, Armon looked great, EJ found his range and DJ came up with big shots all over the court. Ellis, as always filled the stat sheet...what's new?

I give this Hoosier team a B- tonight. Penn State played superhuman basketball by its standards for most of the game and the Hoosier weathered the storm. It will be interesting to see what happens at home against Iowa. Hopefully we stuff the previous close game at Carver back down their throats with a resounding W.

Because if you've ever seen us try to play zone or transition defense our communication on defense is piss awful. If we ever tried to press, it would turn into a layup drill for the other team.

I often wondered why we don't press….EVER, I am sure it is for good reason, more than likely it could put DJ in position to foul. But as I always say…I will take a win over a loss any day of the week.

I think the outcome of this game had just as much to do with Jamarcus Ellis' ability to bust the zone as it was Gordon's 25 or DJ's 22. It was nice to see him take the ball baseline a handful of times or penetrate to the free throw line and finish with an assist. With 15 of the Top 25 teams losing this week (3 Top 10), we should slide nicely into 6 or 7.

Is it me…it seems obvious that we should be pushing the ball more. Our half-court sets are so/so…live by the 3. We are fairly deep at the guard position, quick and play well in the open court. I don't understand why we don't push the tempo and open /create space on the court

Bassett looked completely fine the whole game. He played the entire second half, hit several (5?) threes, and played pretty good defense. I would wager a guess that he starts on Wednesday along with Stemler. Stemler also played well (after two dumb fouls less than a minute after he came off the bench) including sinking another three.

So (I didn't see the game), Crawford started at point but did not score? Bassett came off the bench and had 17? Is Bassett healthy enough to start?

Great game. As Knight always said, ” it's not who starts the game, it's who is playing when the game is over”. I always question KS during games on why he is play so and so and not somebody else, but he some how finds the key guys to play at the right time and win. I think we tend to forget who coach thinks need to be match up with who on the other team.

Big A thanks for the CSTV, I actually watch the entire game after we got out of our meetings. I was able to make a call to catch the 1/2 time score, but that was it.

I was thinking that it didn't seem like we had any subs in the 2nd half. Definitely surprising. Yet, at the end, it seemed like it was Penn State that had lost its legs. I worry about our lack of depth. Mike White is an offensive liability…AJ has yet to find his niche with this team, DeAndre doesn't seem to have enough stamina, so that just leaves Jordan. Basically, we're a six man team with three guys (DeAndre, Mike, AJ) coming in for spot minutes to relieve or handle foul issues for players.

I believe so. I'll be interested to hear what coach Sampson has to say about that in the postgame.
