back to coach sampson's hoosiers...i'm excited about the return of ratliff. i hope they proceed quickly enough with all the necessary paper work to see the naptown native back on the court. glad to hear ej is back, but i hope they only play him if he is 100% (or very near)...they'll need him much worse in the weeks to come. too bad to hear about eli, does anyone know if he can still claim a medical redshirt? no more playing time than he is receiving i'm not so sure that isn't in his best interest anyway. although that added depth may be more necessary than i think during the long conference season.

just thought i would put my two cents in the bucket over at the amature blog, and decided to share it here with the pros.

from an earlier post at www.cobrabrigade.com/2007/12/sampson_gone.php

From: ray

this is the first and last time i will post on this site. by looking at the posts already provided i can tell how this will all work (i post my comments and opinions only to be told that i'm wrong...then, i'm given the same response they've been giving others throughout...that being, "my buddy knows because he used to smoke weed with an iu athlete" and "how could we be wrong when we made one other prediction"). that said, i did find it somewhat humorous that people are getting worked up over allegations made by a couple of foul-mouthed, weed-smoking, rumor-spreading folks who have a "contact". they're a bunch of buddies posting back and forth to boost one another's ego by giving one another props for telling the world that someone who is sick may die. wow guys, thanks for your medical wisdom and going out on a limb. it is true that athletes do wrongful things and they are apparently aware that it "happens all the time", so why are they making such a big deal out of this? the answer...they are caught up in the "if it bleeds, it leads" media frenzy desperately searching for a way to get everyone excited. well, sorry guys but i'm not. how are a couple of bloggers like you going to know about this when the true media (we all know how hungry they are for headlines) have nothing to tell? by the way...for those of you interested, bigA and the guys at "inside the hall" have a clean and legit blog site for iu fans that is worth reading.

Every day there is a different rumor and I'm sick of it. They have all been FALSE about Sampson being fired and will be FALSE until somthing comes out from the NCAA. So everyone just forget about the STUPID RUMORS!

Don't give any credence to that cobrabrigade crap. That was on the scout board two days ago and I like commented on that terrible other site:

If this suspension rumor was true, why would Sampson stagger the suspensions into the big ten season. We have three cupcakes lined up but we are just going to suspend 6 guys in a row throughout the season and during much bigger games. Great thought guys.

And this is the 20th time Sampson has been on thin ice according to these rumors. Until the NCAA does something none of these Sampson rumors have a chance. But hey listen to Illini fans and they are going to announce a postseason ban for secondary violations tomorrow

MPMIKE,

I realize the Mackey story isn't true. I was just relaying the info from the printed story in the Georgetown paper.

Sounds like Mr. Mackey had a little problem running his mouth before the fact to a reporter who took the story and ran with it.

I know this is off topic, however, The story on Bud Mackey enrolling in a high school in Georgia is not correct. The Principal at the school had never heard of Bud Mackey when asking about the star player from Georgetown, KY. Mackey or his family could not be reached.
