If IU Looks bad and whens by 49, hell I will take it....IF EJ never drives to basket and scores 24 points in one half..I will take that too...if the kid plays 30plus minutes he could get 30 plus at this rate.......

Jude, Eric Gordon can get any shot he wants any time he wants. He it all six of his 3-pointers in the first half, why does he need to drive to the basket when he shoots so well. I am sure if he was off on his 3's he would have driven to the basket much more. The fact is Gordon is a very smart player and knows what needs to be done and he is good enough to get it done.

Jude, yesterday EJ took what the defense gave him. To call EJ a "spot-up shooter" is laughable, and you probably never watched the kid play in high school. I don't know if the comparison to Ben Gordon was supposed to be a knock on EJ but if he ends up being as good as Ben was at UConn, I'll be really happy.

Jude,

Keep in mind that Pembroke was playing a tight zone which is a big reason Gordon wasn't trying to penetrate. They were taking what was given to them, which was the three, and hit 18 out of 30.

I wasn't at all pleased with the defensive effort, but I've got no qualms with how they played on the offensive end.

Ray,

Bassett should play tomorrow. Sampson said in the postgame that he could have returned but they wanted to make sure he was going to be available for Monday.

Were the other posters watching the same game I did last night? I did not see IU play well at all. They played with little energy against a completely overmatched Division II opponent. They were consistantly out of position on defence. Only their far superior athleticism made up for glaring defensive lapses. There was very little motion on offense away from the ball. When they would run a pick or screen, then the ball was committed to that player. Eric Gordon is a younger Ben Gordon. He is a spot up shooter. Perhaps it was part of last night's scheme, but I saw none of the penetration, slashing , or creating off the dribble that I was hoping to see from him. This team looks just as bad as last year's team from very early in the season. They are more a collection of fine athletic talent than they are a team working together to achieve the common championship goal. They will have to improve even much more than they did last year over the coarse of the season to make this year's final four. With this talent anything less than a final four will be an underachievement.

a lot are saying that crawford had a bad game. I don't think so. Granted the threes he took were off, but he was way behind the arch when he took those. I just think he has to get used to the zone, but he looked composed by passing the ball to the open man. I hate zone but the hoosiers looked or their shots. I'm still waiting a couple more games to see where Jordan crawford stands.

i agree that gordon is impressive, but mcghee is impressing me as well. for only playing in the second halves of both exhibition games, he sure manages to put up some numbers on the stat sheet. does anyone know what happened to basset? that concerns me a great deal!

The offensive fire-power on this team is impressive. Once Sampson has them playing defense his way, this team will be very tough to beat. Gordon is amazing and now I can understand why Bruce Weber sitll cries himself to sleep every night. Go Hoosiers!
