Mike who???Bobby how???What phone calls??? Indiana basketball is finally here and we now can get down to business. I think we just got a great glimish of what kind of teams Sampson will be able to put together.
Taking the phone calls out of it, first the kids have to be located before one phone call is ever made. Who knew of Jordon Crawford and Matt Roth? Sampson does his homework well and can recruit the kids. I think the kids like his style of ball and Sampson as a person. I would like to think that Indiana can recruit kids just because we are IU but can you remember Mike Davis and the players we didn't get. There is finally excitment on how great Indiana can be.

I was one of the first to question Sampson when he first was announced as IU's new head coach. I knew that he coach OK and had a great recruiting class coming in for last year (#5)but but that was about it. I did not like the baggage and the fact that he was still not Bob Knight. But I have to admit...over the years I got really tired of defending Knight and IU basketball. No one back then even cared about our clean record, graduation rates, front row for the handicap, Bob not taking pay raises, the list goes on about what I would say. All anyone really cares about is winning. Let's face it, when Bobby was winning we tend to look the other way but there towards the end it was getting harder and harder. Back to Sampson, I personally was able to meet Sampson at Fuzzy's Wolf Challenge and was able to walk the entire game with him. He was such a class act that I was proud to be in his company. To think that he actually intentually made phones calls to skirt the system is beyond my belief. The NCAA will make their ruling and we will have to live with. In the mean time let's play ball. The Hoosiers look great...as a matter of fact I can't recall the last time the looked so good.
