IU plays on ESPNU. What BS….I used t be a fan. I guess I will now watch ACC since they play on ESPN about 3 times a week!!! BTN will see they are losing fans because during this time in our world there are more important things than paying extra to watch their network!

I currently have BTN, and as a result got to watch a pretty solid looking Hoosiers (football?!?!) team – but lemme tell you, DirecTV is awful. You’ve heard how satellite signal can be a little finicky? Well, if my a.c. or heat kicks on, the signal goes out. If I turn on the stove, the signal goes out. It’s friggin’ ridiculous.

I agree with iumatt04. Whether I’m happy about the BTN is immaterial now. It’s here to stay so my only choice will be to switch to either DirecTv or Dish. I’m not going to stay with Comcast and miss 17 IU games or spend all that time in some bar. Of course, I’ll be switching my internet provider as well and will not be signing up for Comcast’s phone service either (which was too high anyway) so they’ll be losing out on about $105 a month just from me. I’m a little concerned about the quality of signal I’ll be able to get with Dish or DirecTv with all the trees around my house. Anyone have an opinion which is better .. Dish or DirecTv?

Well, so much for the argument that the Big Ten Network is only going to show 2nd and 3rd tier events. I think Wisconsin and MSU qualify as top notch games.

Eventually Comcast will cave, when enough people call and complain or switch to Direct TV.

Comcast is short sighted because sports is a tv driver. People rarely switch providers to get Sprout or Noggin for their kids or DIY or HGTV for the wives, but they WILL make the switch for their sports programming.

And they’ll take the phone and internet business with them…
